    Ghost,

I would suggest working at contributing something in a positive light and refrain from spouting. If you're going to troll, go to another site.

Hopefully you'll contribute, I'd like to read your thoughts on San Shou, (your profile says you study it), I saw a show about it on T.V. yesterday and thought it was interesting.

            I did study San Shou

For about a couple of years.

My thoughts based on my experience are as follows.

I find that the kicking is too soft, its flicky kicky like kickboxing.
The punching is boxing and is therefore good.

The takedowns are good too but nothing happens after the takedown which i think is really wierd. You can throw someone all day and not beat them, unless they land on their head or something.

I think that the way it is generally trained is too soft, there is not enough full contact in the gym.

I also think that elements of Kung Fu creep in too often and ruin it.

Its OK i would say but i cant say that it would be a huge advantage in a street fight other than the boxing.

Let me ask you something FULLCIRCLE, my buddy has been looking around for a school to put his little 5yr. old in. Most of the schools around here are Korean MAs and TKD is real big. He said he is gonna bring him to either TKD or TSD and join up with him.

So, my question is.........does TSD suck as bad as TKD? If it does I'll just tell him to give up and take up knitting......lol

Don't take it to heart....just messing with ya

you mean drinking, swearing and taunting haven't been learned by age 5 in south LA....time to go to Tibidox to watch some white shrimp boats and learn 'em a thing or two.

If they haven't been to LA, they won't get it

By the age of 5 we learn drinking, swearing, and fighting. I don't know what the hell a Tibodox is though.......lol. You might mean Thibodaux???? (ti-ba-doe). And just in case you didn't realize if you want to see shrimp boats you just went the wrong way man. You want to go SOUTH not NORTH.....lol. And the shrimp boats are not all white.....it's the rubber boots that are all white.

Stick around and I might learn ya a thing or 2 Tommy boy...

                        hehe!

That was an LA catch phrase if I saw one.... "boy, I'll learn you a thing or two"

You didn't catch the NO reference to Tibidox; I know its Tib-a-deaugh.

I did notice that they weren't following up the takedowns, I didn't know if it was because they were "sparring" or if it was taught that way.

And after a week of Aikido classes he'll be ready to wipe the floor with some TKD guys. I don't just mean throw them around either.....I mean literally wipe the floor with them. He'll show them a new martial art.......Tae Kwon Mop.

I wouldn't worry about it though he won't hurt your buddies too bad cuz with all that padding they wear they should be able to take the impact of bouncing off the floor.

That sounds like TSD. I went to one of those classes for a little while and they did the high kicks like TKD and added in like one or two takedowns that were horrible. I knew a better way to do the move and they get all pissed cuz that's not the way the guy that created TSD would have done it........Hell, from what I saw of TSD, someone should have been there helping him out when he was coming up with all this shit.
