And by the way are you trying to say that ya'll kick in the nuts once you get experience? I surely hope not. Although that would explain alot about TKD guys. Sounds like you try to make TKD out to be a little badder than we all know it is.

      Acitic,

Dude, you need to make sense... I can't follow a damn thing you say. How about using spell-check or something?

Anyway, sounds like you're a product of good o' Mcdojo's. However, in some ways I agree with you—TKD has some legitimate stretching and warm-up exercises. Also, as I've mentioned in another thread a few kicks are salvageable. In some gyms, TKD instructors teach boxing as well, so that's a relief.

However, I will tell you that most serious martial artists shy away from TKD. Many of them begin with TKD, because it is an easy art to learn, then move on to better things. How many times are we told that this champion has a 5th dan in TKD, then purple belt in BJJ, then MT and now does NHB or K-1—many times.

Do Not Insult my crest, by comparing my club to that insulting piece of crap. Than school is a insult to TKD, the very name of it makes fun of the beautiful korean language. You Don't know how my club trains so don't compare it.

I have only been in one really fight.... the guy was mad cuzz his girlfriend liked me more. He threw a jab then a cross missed on both, i took him down and secured his arms..... and just talked to him, calmed him down then it was over. I had no need for further fighting.... i could have kick him in the side then punched him but that won't really been self-defence which TKD is.

when u say "a few kicks are salvageable" ever single kick i was taught is taught in karate too. Are you saying Karate is a piece of $hit and has no effectiveness...... TKD came from karate and korean foot fight.

Damn son, how much pot do you smoke a day? You need to lay off cuz I think you are frying one too many brain cells. McDojo is McDojo and fighting in grade school is.....well........fighting in grade school. I wish I was back there, fights were so easy in grade school and junior high. Fact of the matter is the older you get the more you are going to realize how useless TKD is. Right now you are still young and want to beleive but once you get older and other people start learning how to fight you are going to realize that your style is ineffective in the real world.

we are not taught to grapple we r taught how to take someone there and keep him there
The hell is that supposed to mean? By saying you aren't taught to grapple and then saying you are taught to take someone on the ground and keeping him there, isn't that contradicting yourself?

Tkd is crap not because the name sounds stupid, but because they don't teach you moves that can be used in a fight. I mean some moves you could pull off in a fight but they won't do shit. Others, like the flying kick are crap. Don't tell me that i shouldn't judge something i haven't tried or that bullshit. I took tkd for 4 years and it just blows.

I also beat up a kid that took tkd for 9 years. He tried to do that funky, "dancing cobra bites big fat vein in your neck move". It's where he moves his lead hand around like a "cobra" and says "watch the snake matt, watch the snake" which at that time i scoffed, went into clinch, and made him tap by choke.

It's just bullshit ! Ok enough cursing for one day.

well even when they do get in fights, tKD guys like in a flash forget all they learned and start slugging. And that goes for a bunch of martial artists, but not all.

I've looked up Grandmaster Choi or whatever from the ITF website. He never got in a fight. He kicked poles. His inspiration for TKD was that a wrestler threatened him and he couldn't find back cuz he was too scared. So he went around kicking poles that don't kick back.

But. He never got in a fight. He never fought. The Gracies fought. Muay Thai was developed on the battlefields. Aiki-Jiu-Jitsu was tested by Samurais in the field. Boxing people fight. TKD people just don't fight. No, sparring is not fighting. Like my TKD instructor said, "it's tag."

what was your instructor smoking...... sparring is not tag it is a dance that never stops tag is someone attacks then someone else attacks..... TKD sparring is made to be one consint motion someone attacks and the other counter-attacks.... moving non stop is what TKD sparring is designed to do. fight mean nothing. Martial arts is not fighting! it is self-defence.

Sparring with pads is fighting??????? When you get hit with pads you don't feel a damn thing unless it's like a kick to the head. But of course with all that equipment on it'sbound to slow your kick, even if it doesn't, the pads on your feetand oponent will neutralize the kick if you don't hit teh head.

in my last post i never said once that tkd sparring is fighting. and that is not true.... when u get hit with platic pads which we use in tkd to the rids or the kidness u sure feel a lot.

Slows you down until u get condetioned... then later when it isin't on u get alot faster

Who did you get hit by? Was he 6 years older than you? I mean it's impossible to actually do any damage and deliver pain with those gloves on.
