i just f*cking hate them, they just dont apply any technique, they just wanna use their strenght to make you tap. they slam you and really appears that they dont care about learning any technique

i roll with one of them today, he didn“t make me tap but i have to scape and use a lot of thing to sub him.

Just let them burn up all that precious energy. I love watching them wheeze near the end...their end.

thats a pretty good strategy, i used it today. but you just dont hate watching them using their force in bjj instead of technique?

Yes, very much so. I am at about 155, and sometimes I go up against this guy at my school who is about 260. Sometimes I beat him, sometimes he beats me. But the thing that annoys me is you are thinking to yourself...."Lose that hundred pounds and lets see if you'll ever beat me again!" One time, he beat me by mounting me and just laying over my head. At least 2 minutes went by before I tapped. I realized, he wasn't going to move. The thing is though, it is annoying as hell, but it helps you in the long run by dealing with such peoples' body types.

"Lose that hundred pounds and lets see if you'll ever beat me again!" i say something like that to him. he just laugh.

and i hate them, but this also help, cause when i roll with smaller guys i find it easyer.

          peace

yes, correct.. if you 260lbs.. AND have technique.. a 140lbs guy don't have a chance at all..

yeah a guy with that big of a weight difference is to big to roll with.. I agree its good to roll with guys like that because you have to use all technique as he will totally out power you... but the thing it is fine to roll as long as he is cool and your buddy and knows he is a lot bigger than you... you get some guy that just goes aggro and refuses to tap and picks you up in the air to slam you everytime you armbar or triangle them forget about it... your bound to get hurt//

Just for the record, I'm nowhere near that heavy! Though I used to wrestle and roll with people like that on a constant basis in BJJ and judo.

When I did judo I was around 185.

Doing more of a JKD concepts/mma approach now I'm down to 170 and about 8-9% bodyfat.

I weigh in at 240lbs. and about 10% bf. I use mostly technique but I do use my power too. I use the power to complete the technique when they resist. It's really not fair to a smaller guy though cuz bigger guys can get by with using less technique and just power their way through.

It takes alot of stamina and technique to grapple with larger and stronger partners, but having good technique and speed is more important for throws and takedowns.

For example you lock up and give a little push to the bigger guy, he pushes you back naturally he backs you for a split second, then plant into ippon seo nage, ogoshi etc and it will look like you really slam him onto the mat. With a guy of equal size, the impact won't seem as grand and he appears to fall slower.

I have mixed feelings about this.

On one hand, for self-defense training, I think going against power grapplers is good since that's the type of person you'll probably end up with on the ground in real life. Unless some MMA or BJJ champion realizes his wallet is a little bit light and hasn't been paid for his last fight and sees you as an easy mark, you're probably not going to end up in a technical grappling situation outside the gym or a tournament.

On the other hand, you tend to get banged up at times grappling with people like that so it does get annoying.

My whole thing is like this......

I am a big pretty strong guy. When I am in class I use alot of technique and not a whole lot of power unless I need it to get past a block. When I fight and I go to the ground I prefer to ground and pound. If they make through the first minute of the onslaught then I get technical and go for the submission. I have not been forced to do a submission in the ring from the mount position but I have from the guard. Basically if I get in the mount I am going to knock you out with heavy punches, and not because I don't have technique but just because I am not going to sit there and grapple someone and let them have a chance at me when I know I have the power to beat them to a pulp.
