LOL!!! You like my new name? All the boys back here in Wpg say hi . I told them that you were doing alright. Danny is entering the ring. Richard has been showing up quite religiously for cardio and is looking pretty good. Heather is totally kicking all the ring guys in cardio. Big Mike is teaching during the daytime, LOL!!! He managed to round up 5 guys to train in the daytime. He just wants to kick their ass and try out his new stand up jiu-jitsu skills. Everyone says hi!

Thanks for the info guys, it helps alot. I've also noticed something when i do the armbar. Whenever i apply the armbar, from my perspective it looks as if his arm is bent a bit to one side. I alwasy thought the armabr should be completely straight, help me out here.

            Straight armbar=swollen package unless
you wear a cup (which you won't on the street) or learn to always squeeze his arm enough with your knees (which you might or might not).

The leg you bring the armbar over depends on which way his thumb is pointiing. Go opposite the thumb and you will always know the elbow is locked.

Sometimes the armbar is applied so fast, it's hard to tell when a guy is really using his upper thigh instead of his groin. Im only talking about a couple of inches from the crotch.

Thumb left=go over right thigh near the crotch and visa versa. Thumb straight up= either way works.

Most of the time you will want to be leaning more toward his feet; so, most of the time it will be better to use the leg over his torso and learn to aim his thumb up as you bring his wrist back.

I know there are differing ideas about this;but, try it and you will see it is much easier to really lock the elbow
with force over the upper thigh instead of the crotch.

Another thing, when you go back to lock out the arm, don't just try to bend the arm straight out. Actually stretch the arm toward you, when you can,
enough to pull him into your butt and lock his shoulder down. And don't just lay the legs over straight. Use your legs to press down and pull him into you while squeezing your knees. This makes it tighter and eliminates 90% of escapes.

After a few million reps, all these details will be automatic. Have fun.

So i don't push up agfainst the arm when his arm is in the center? I use the side to the right of the groin then?

Don't forget to elevate your hips !!

if you have squeezed your knees together enough, you shouldn't have to worry about the groin area, because the guy's arm will be caught above your groin. So in this case you have to elevate your hips/pelvis to achieve the lock.

I do see some guys do it on either one of the thighs though... so I guess it's what's easier at that particular moment. Whenever I've laid on an armbar, it's usually been in the middle.
