I have been studying BJJ for 3 years. All of my life all I have wanted to do was to teach martial arts. This was a fulfulling dream too..I have a blackbelt in taekwondo, a full instructorship in JKD, and am certified as a thai-boxing coach. I did alot of teaching in the past and even ran my own school for a while...but when the BJJ bug hit, all that changed.
BJJ is all I think about. I want desperately to stick it out, get a black belt and open a school. But I train at a purple belt academy..not even directly with a real blackbelt. I go to class..I even take notes! But I just feel like time is slipping away. By the time I do ever get certified..I will be an old man!
What can I do to stay on track and maybe speed up the process? Is there anything you can think of that I could do in the mean time? What is out there for the hard core BJJ student? How do all of you make a living?
