Rickson didn't say he can take anyone in the world. Why put words into his mouth?

What would you say if you were Rickson or any other top fighter and someone asked you if so-and-so could beat you? You would say the exact same thing he did: I might make a mistake, it's possible he could win, but I'm confident that I have a very good chance of winning. Or, my ground game is much better than his, if I can get him on the ground I will win. No one would ever say "He'll probably beat me."

What do you want him to say?

He'll fight when the money and opponent and circumstances are right. He's a great fighter, and he's a smart man. He understands the business aspects and the fighting aspects of the game.

As a Rickson fan....or a BJJ guy who respects Ricksons BJJ accomplisments, I wish the guy would fight and quit talking. He talks and talks and now is too old to fight anyway. The MMA world has passed him by. If he was young, training with MMA guys of today with todays knowledge, you bet he would OWN guys at 185lbs. He wont fight now because he'd get pounded by Minataro or Babalu. Even if he was fighting all this time, and taking some loses here and there, that would be fine, the Gracie name would be even stronger. Sitting it out, how does that help the "family" pride? I'm sure it's not his intention, but Rickson is basically saying that no one in the entire world is worthy of fighting him. Even though I would consider myself a Rickson fan, I think it's kind of lame to sit around and criticize other fighters when you're not even competeing.

My message to Rickson would be this:

Either get a confirmed match within the next 2 years or announce your retirement from MMA. Also, talk is cheap. If you think you're better than Minotauro and Silva, prove it. At least they out there busting there asses and putting their reputations on the line.
