    ...

    He was Chinese.

And yes, I think he could have done fairly well in the UFC. Invincible, no, but he studied grappling as well and I think he could have held his own well enough to punch back, if tackled.

But striking was definitely his strong point.

I don't think there is a question that Bruce was involved in a lot of street fight or had a fighters spirit. I definately think that Bruce would loose (championship) even in his prime. Size is definatly a factor UFC remember the Kempo guy "giant killer" could you imagine 120lb bruce against near 7ft 600+ lb jello fat ball with 6 boobs, that was packaged as humanoid sumo......whoa.

Also I don't think Bruce acknowleged sport combat as true combat and basically felt it was not worth his time. He did demonstrations of wingchun power in 1 inch punch but that was it. On a technical note I also think he was extremely defensless if a grappler could close the gap, I know judo gene labelle but him on his butt many times while "sparring"

    The ground game means pain

I put this in another post (not verbatim) when bruce was asked about fighting Muhamd Ali, he said: "if I fight him in the ring with his rules he (ali) will beat me......but if we fight by my rules [no rule] I will beat him badly"

Bruce Lee is quoted admitted that he would NEVER get into a ring with Muhammed Ali, for fear that Ali would take his head off.

he said something like "Get into a ring with a guy 100lbs heavier than me and just as fast as I am? never happen".

Even the Dragon himself admits he'd most assuradly face defeat against that mere boxer.

The REAL question is could a present day Lee take on a present day Ali. Now THATS a fight. They could fight over the jello pudding packs in the resthome.

It's pretty hard to say now that he has been dead for like 31 years!!! Fighter or not he is a great martial artist who has revolutionized the martial arts worldwide.

Well Helio and Carlos were "skinny guys" and they were hard as nails. Who knows? If it was in his weight class i would say he would be one of the top ones.

Everyone knows Bruce Lee as a skinny oriental guy with amazing martial arts experience.

He is known both as martial artist and actor. His movements and speed shown on movies was shocking to all those who saw him in action. Some people believe the way he could fight as a martial artist in movies is the way he could fight as a martial artist in real life.

However no one really knows for sure since Bruce Lee was not interested in competition and put down many martial artists and telling them what he thought they lacked.

If Bruce Lee was alive, and if he were to agree to fight in UFC, do you think he would win ?

I definitely think Bruce Lee despite how good people knew him at being a martial artist would still lose in something like UFC.

As a martial artist he was more of a guy with outstanding technique and power but lacked the true fighting ability and mind set.

    What do you guys think?
