  • Foot Wrapping?

Hi Forum! I was wondering if anyone could tell me how to wrap my feet for kick boxing. I'm kinda' new so my ankels are still alittle weak. All I've done for wrapping so far is my hands, so any foot wrapping advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

I've never heard of anyone "wrapping" their ankles before. Many people wear anklets though.

I know some people who have wrapped their ankles. They use gauze to go criss-cross from ankle to instep for support, then use athletic tape to tighten it all up, then wear an ankle support over it.

Personally, I have a gimpy ankle and all I do is wear a pair of ankle supports over it. Works like a charm!

I've seen velcro wraps - like anklets but with a good amount of support... but not actual wrapping.

I think unless you have an injury or seriously weak ankles, it's better to not support them, but rather to take it a little easy at first and let them strengthen over time.
Also as a beginner, any ankle problems you are having are more likely related to form than strength. In particular, are you pivoting on your standing leg when you kick? you might ask your instructor...

          Thanks

Thanks for all your replies, I think I'll go without the support, I just read it on a different site that wraps work to help strengthen up safer. Thanks again. Gregimotis, I do pivot on my standing leg btw.
