I for one want to see good kickboxers in the league. Not fat sumo wrestlers and ex-NFL players that are just an embarresement.
Do you have any previous boxing experience?

At the end of the day I guess Bob Sapp was just the better athlete and the better fighter.
Personally I have no problem seeing different forms of fighters in K1, it gives you a different perspective of the arts used in the sport, and shows you that to be the best kickboxer you don't have to have a slim chiselled body, with rock hard shins, and a devastating roundhouse.
Also what kind of fighter are you if you can only fight a certain genre of fighter.
Different fighters like Sapp will only better the art.

"...Don't worry. When you are in the ring, you're all by yourself. No one can help you. So, all you can do is fight. So fight! Don't back down. Like in life, no one is going to live your life. So, no one is going to fight your fight for you. Muaythai is not winning or being better than the other guy. It is learning to lose before winning and to give from your heart before receiving. In muaythai, you always win and lose. So, don't worry. (Smile)..."

Ernesto Hoost is what? in his 40's, the guys career is close to an end, 10 years ago Hoost may well have taken Bob Sapp. Bob Sapp is not a kickboxer but he has an extreme advantage due to the sheer body mass and weight behind each hit. That is his weapon and strategy. His fighting skills are pretty low.
As for the devastating roundhouse, thats a silly comment, do you want me to grab my opponent and tap him with my foot or do you want me to drive a hard kick into him? Of course it takes more than a devastating roundhouse to make a great Kickboxer but the devastating roundhouse and knowing how to use it plays a great part in being a great kickboxer.
Think about this, what would happen if Bob Sapp went into UFC

hed probably get murdered. But I think Hoost has beaten Sapp as well. He doesnt seem to have that much trouble with big guys, he has already beaten Jan the Giant a few times.
But I agree that sapp doesnt have any finesse. Just look at his punches, he just swings his arms. And the sheer weight just knocks people over.
Did you ever see the Sapp vs Zebra fight? They really must have had something against each other cause Sapp ends up jumping on the guys head untill like 15 officials come in and tore him off.
But yes I think tyson will kick Sapps ass.

Relax this isnt meant as a troll, correct me if I am wrong....
I dunno about Sapp being murdered I was thinking simply because of his strength and size he would win as he has played pro NFL and in NFL you do a lot of pushing around and pulling (wrestling basicly), I mean take a professional Rugby League player, similar strength as Sapp but a hell of a lot tougher in my opinion, going off topic, how would a Pro League player square up in the fighting sports? That would make for an interesting watch, they are very strong and very tough and used to getting studs in their heads and shoved and pulled and wrestled to the ground..... I have never really gave that much thought up until now, lol, maybe we are all studying the wrong art, maybe we should all go and try out for our local rugby team!

Thats pretty arguementitive, Bob Sapp IS a crap fighter... damn watch the guy fight, absolute zero finnese and his accuracy aint too hot. It's his sheer body weight and size that is dominating.... I think Tyson will destroy this man.

Well there are many assests that make a good fighter, speed, strength, endurance, technique, a brain, etc. You say hes a crap fighter, but you need only look at his record, and hes only an amateur!
Sure he may have bad technique, he may be slow, lack endurance, maybe even lack a brain, but he can win, and at the end of the day thats what seperates the better fighter from the lesser fighter. I don't care how well someone can use Muay Thai, TKD, Boxing, Karate, etc, if you can't win then you aint a good fighter.
His weight and strength is an extreme advantage, thats what makes him the amazing fighter he is.
I agree with you to an extent, Bob Sapp has no real technique or form from any art, but I wouldn't say his fighting skills are low. I would personally define fighting skills as how well you can use what you got (because just like in a street fight it's not about how well you can use a particular art, but how well you can use yourself), and Bob Sapp can use his bulk pretty well.

Ah heh, just abit of a misunderstanding. I was just trying to point out that most (not all) kickboxers follow a similar trend of having good feet, chiselled bodies, hard shins, etc. I was just showing that although these are great assests to have they are not necessities to become a good kickboxer.
Also, although I used to be a Tyson fan (before he started to bite ears), I reckon Sapp would win in K1 rules since Tyson would probably weave and duck right into some knees, but in boxing rules, hmmm, it's hard to tell.
