  • Attn: Damian Mavis...

Hey Damian, Just wondering if you are still in Thailand right now. How's the training going? What camps have you been to? You should go to the SitYodTong Camp in Pattaya. I'm gonna be there from May 3 - May 19! I can't wait to go to Thailand. It's gonna be so awesome. I know I'm gonna get my ass kicked, but I don't care... It will be fun. OK, well I'll talk to you soon.

Only 2 weeks?! How are you supposed to fight in 2 weeks?! haha, I'm just kidding, if that is all you've got then that's all you've got. You won't want to leave at the end of that 2 weeks though. Make sure you stay in touch before you come down as I am more than willing to meet up with you and show you around. In fact it would be alot of fun for me... I had a buddy that was supposed to visit me and he flaked out so I'm all psyched up to show somebody all this cool stuff!

Right now I live and work in Bangkok but I go to Pattaya every single week to train Shoalin Karate (mixed with submission grappling), Tae Kwon Do and Muay Thai. I even have an apartment in Pattaya haha.

I've only been to Lamai Muay Thai in Koh Samui, ISS Muay Thai in Pattaya and the Muay Thai camp at University Rakamheang since I moved here.

Make sure you stay in touch, I'll show you the time of your life heh.

Hahaha... well i am going with my trainer and a couple other fighters from our gym. So he will be showing us around n stuff. but it would still be cool to meet up. I know 2 weeks is pretty short but some people can barely get the time off work/school. I wish we could stay for at least a month! But it will still be cool.

No offence to your trainer and friends but when I came with people from my Muay Thai academy we spent most of our time in our hotel room because they were too scared to socialise, hope you don't have the same experience.

Hey Damian I was in Bangkok back in january and stumbled upon the camp at the University Rakamheang. I had 10 days -2 days travel -2 days sick (food poisoning on the plane over) and some sight seeing so I only got to train there for 4 days. I really enjoyed the training and everybody was really nice. Salid was one of the instructors and also a tall guy (I think he was a rajadamnerm champ) was there. Have you been to the Sunday fights at channel 7 studios? We went to all the stadiums and a bar fight, the channel 7 were by far the best fights.

Hey, where are the channel 7 fights?

I train at Rakamheang university every week. I do gymnastics there too along with Muay Thai and boxing so it's great for me and my career.

They are at the channel 7 tv station studio. I think we just hopped in a cab and they took us there. They were every Sunday at 1:00. Get there early. It fillls up fast and you have to wear a collered shirt. It is also free. The fights were unbelievably good. We were also the only farang there. Hope you can find them.
