Now granted I'm no expert in kickboxing, but do I understand this style right? It's kickboxing without knees?!?!? Now I personally I train with every kickboxing technique except head kicks (I don't like high kicks, I think that they are just shy of useless in competition). But knees are a combat proven effective technique which has caused a hell of a lot more damage in MMA competition then all the kicks combined. Maybe its because knees are my second favorite technique to use, and first favorite technique to see executed properly. But it just seems kind of dumb to completely remove something that has been proven to work. It's like saying boxing without a left hook (which just so happens to be my first favorite technique to use)!!!!

Well savate is was developed quite a while ago. It focuses more on the feet then anything else. It is like boxing but using kicks. If you find a good savate fighter, its quite something to see. They have very quick feet, there was one savate fighter in the first blood sport and I am pretty sure the main bad guy in drunken master is a savate fighter.

So no I am not "convinced???????"
1. he uses mostly Crescent Kick (a type of kick preferred by the Crane KungFu)
2. All of his Kicking Alphabets are found in WuShu (the general address for all northern kungfu's)
Note:
1. MuayThai uses only his primary PushKick and RoundhouseKick.... nothing more......
2. A very far to call it Savate..... cause Savate, MuayThai, Kickboxing, TaeKwonDo, Capoeira, Karate = all of their Kicks have similarities........
Note:
That is the way we use our kicks, so i know that it is WuShu..... all of its kicking alphabets - we have..........
he use his leading kick primarily...... multiple kicks in a one leg lift-up.....
Note:
Only KungFu/WuShu - uses mostly his LEADING Kicks
(TaiChi, GoCho, Arhats, TanTui, ChoyLiFut, WingChun, SouthernEagleClaw, NorthernMantis, 7th-StarPrayingMantis, SouthernMantis, etc......)
Only Non-KungFu - uses mostly his REAR Kicks
(MuayThai, Karate, TaeKwonDo, Savate, Capoeira, KickBoxing, etc......)
Note:
the reason why Bruce Lee uses mainly his Leading Kick (KungFu)

I don't like taking the chances that a high kick will miss and someone shoots in and puts me in a knee bar. But I love to grab someone in a clinch and knee them in the chin. High kicks just seem to me to be the least effective strike. Since only once in a great while do you actually get the opportunity to throw it,

Savate is a very effective kickboxing style!
It's Savate or French Kick boxing, it's practiced with shoes, it's all similar to kick boxing, the exeption is that the kicks are mostly with the feet (no shin), it uses all sort of low kicks possible there are specific terms that I don't know how to translate in English. the boxing part is the same as traditional boxing and there is no predominance of kicks or or punches, the best thing in any form of kickboxing is the combination between the two. Many big kickboxing champions like Francois Pennacchio come from the Savate, in 1996 Pennacchio(french) surprised the whole world by winning against the Legend of Muay Thai Ramon Dekkers(Dutch) in a kickboxing world title championship.
I practiced Savate, kickboxing and Muay Thai for fifteen years, I still can't commit to only one style of fighting, even if Muay Thai is my all favourite, I still go for sessions where I focus only on one of the three, it just depends on the mood.
Coming to high kicks, they are great to see and also great to train, practicing a lot the high kicks is good for a perfect balance and for the fitness, not very easy to use against a good fighter but they are a pleasure when you fight for fun in the gym!

about the bruce lee thing
Disastrously Wrong !!!!!!!
the reason was because his right leg was longer than his right. and he was all about practical attacks so his longest weapon would be in front..make sense correct?
not because of kung fu...
he was just a smart fighter

how can become his right leg longer than his right leg???????? they are the same right leg?????????
true, he was a smart fighter - cause his movie art is Jeet Kune Do - and you all conviced - while his actual art is WingChun......
i did that same trick that he did too..... cause i show my opponent the opening of TaiChi and SpringLeg Style KungFu - while my attacking art is WingChun, GoCho and ChiDianBun
HAW HAW HAW HAW.......
the opponent is surprised but its too late.......
