nahh not really, what a dumbo
Uhh, bit of a chip on the shoulder and having to resort to shouting about skin color, durrrrr great.
Get a life Ikken and dont be a hater because you are a half pint Oompah Loompah like HuSanYan correctly and wisely spotted.
I agree with your posts HuSanYan great thread you started here, easy to see who feels threatened here eh??
One up for TKD!!!!!!!!!!!!!
indeed it is one up for TKD JThorne!, good on ya mate
regards
I posted a clip earlier, in which a TKD guy gets knocked down by a Muay Thai guy's headkick. I really can't see the point of this thread HuSanYan, other than to pick a fight in this forum. You started a new thread in "Thaiboxing and Kickboxing" showing some clown dressed in white sheets kicking an actor's ass, and you claim to have trained Muay Thai....
I have formed my opinion on the effectiveness of Muay Thai through my own training/sparring/fighting, and I can tell you that the stance I've had against TKD guys has only helped me to knock them off their feet. One thing that I have noticed sparring with TKD people and some HMD people is that they really need to have their distance right to execute their fancy kicks... And whenever you go for a spinning technique you leave yourself open. Anyways, I have to admit that some of the TKD kicks are quite scary looking when you are at the receiving end but luckily they are not that accurate
i think the clip you posted shows quite well whats wrong with a sideways stance. notice how he gets turned when he is kicked in the leg, leaving him off balance and exposed. and lol at the spinning kick he tries, although I guess it must have dawned on him he would lose anyway
and i think the fact that jthorne and hu san yan have resorted to personal attacks (and not even good ones... ommpa loompa? are you twelve?) means this thread has run its course. have fun practicing a sub par striking art guys _b
if anything white people (can you be racist against your own race? ) **** me off more, because when we came to this country we were poor and the only people who wanted to know us where the other poor maoris who lived in the govt housing section that we lived in. and now that we make a good living we are "acceptable" to our nice volvo driving neighbours. dont you fucking accuse me of racism.
So you might be Indian, Irish, Italian, Puerto Rican, Chinese, Japanese, turkish, Mongolian, African, Cuban, Pakistani, or Middle Eastern?
I missed a couple didn't I.
I don't think that you personally were ever poor, and rose to riches by yourself. But besides that, don't let the "the man" divide you. There are only Rich people that want everything, and poor people that have nothing.
Color and race has nothing to do with it.
It's all about the benjamins
Before stating my opinion, for those that dont know me I'll just quickly give my background. I'm an expert in ITF style TKD (same same but different - joke for anyone thats been to Thailand - from Olympic style which is the style used in this fight) but have trained muay thai for 4 years and fought once so far in Thailand where I live. I'm relatively proficient at muay thai, it is my second art out of several that I train in, with TKD being my main art.
Anyway, this fight.... hearing crap about the muay thai guy (and he is muay thai) not using elbows and knees and therefore musn't be real muay thai is ridiculous, the video only shows a few clips from the fight, obviously to highlight the TKD and not anything good the muay thai guy did. He could have used elbows but not in the clips of him getting raped by kicks to his head. The grip the TKD guy used in the clinch is not a good clinch grip, it is a demobilizing grip, you cant launch elbows or knees from the position they were in, knees would have been round knees with little or no effect and impact, looks like someone taught the TKD fighter one defence for the clinch and that was to hang onto his opponents neck with all his weight and keep his hips in to neutralize his attacks. Also this is not a Thai as someone said, he looks Japanese: K1, muay thai and full contact forms of TKD are all very popular there.
The TKD guy is good but his kicks are weak... did his kicks knock out his opponent? No, they should have though.
I'm kind of shocked at the lack of knowledge of alot of the so called proponents of muay thai here as demonstrated by many of the posts. Which is why I guess people are still thinking that one art will beat another art solely because of the name. The more I know about certain arts and the better I get the more I see it's weaknesses. As would many of you if you were serious about martial arts instead of your egos.
it's going to happen. I've fought a really good tdk guy. he dropped me with a spin kick to my stomach and dropped me. I beat him because my hands were better. The fight shows clearly that the muay thai fighter was giving the tdk guy way too much time for kicks. no punches! fighters forget to punch and depend on kicks. No clinching to drop the knees...
it's pure science. Muay Thai is overall better then TDK because of the elbows, knees, headbutts, kicks, punches... it's basic science
tdk kicks and punches hurt but the movement of weight and the kick as they are flying drop you as well and not the kick itself...
now if the fighter fails to utilize everything in his toolbox then it's not the style it's the figher.
TDK is dope. i can't lie. Adding some TDK in your Muay Thai would kill you.
good post Damian, I agree with your points and also clearly see how some people just get so rapped up in thinking that their style is so indestructable, especially with MT, all the excuses above speak for themselves
Used to train in kick boxing before Mauy Thai. The local TKD club wanted a comp the experienced V's ours, plus the less V's us. lets just say the didn't like mixing it up close in.
The fighter is Korean. The MA he used is Korean. The match took place in, let's see, Korea. You really think they gonna throw a proper Mt fighter in there to kick his sorry ass? Same reason why no one cheered when Dekkers Knocked out Coban in Lumpinee. It's their pride, i respect that. But nothing more.
I had forgotten about this thread and just logged on here for the first time in a while, I am glad to see some life in this one, as, once again, the vid clip clearly shows TKD kicking the ass outta MT, no excuses acceptable.
Is he another tkd-basher pro-Muay Thai immature kid?
I'm just trying to get the message across that martial arts are martial arts. They are all organized systems of fighting that are effective, none more effective than the others.
True, nowadays sport plays a big role in TKD, but it also does in many other arts.
Although with a sport aspect, the martial part of TKD will never go away.
