  • How often?

    Hello all.

    Been reading threads in the forum for sometime, but only just registered. Anyway, I've been doing Muay Thai for about 6months. I do individual training with my coach once a week, practice at home, mostly just shadow boxing, and do weights 3 times a week.

    I wanna go into more intensive MT training. My coach recommends twice a week, once individual and once in a group. I'm not perfect on my technique yet, and could do with the individual attention. But at the same time, I'm getting abit stagnant without the sparring.

    What do you guys think? Should I just stick to individual but up the frequency? Or just switch purely over to group sessions?

    Ive been taking Muay thai for 8 months now...I try to go 3 days week (1 group day, 1 private personal training, 1 sparring day) and i think I have gotten fairly good results. Private trainings are great but its always good to work with other partners to switch things up.. I personally think that ONCE a week is way too little to train....if you want to get more advanced. As u know Muay Thai is an intense sport and just training 1 day a week will probably not help u too much when youre planning to compete in the future...

      I'm thinking of going pretty serious into MT so once a week is definately wayyy to little. I was thinking of 1 personal training, and 1 or 2 group trainings depending on my schedule, which encompasses sparring as well. plus 2 - 3 times a week weight training.
