how much does a thai boxer get paid for a fight. i heard from a friend hes gonna get 2 grand if he loses and 3 if he wins but he does that ufc kind of thing. any difference

I seriously doubt there are Thai Boxers out there making that kind of money. Maybe if you are a pro fighting in the K1 in a main event. Even some Pride fighters dont get that much. I dont think that info you have is accurate. Ive never heard of a "rich" Thai Boxer.....

Depends on where you fight, who you are, and how big of an event it is.

I understand that its quite typical for a pro MT fighter here in the USA to only get $300 or less per fight. If you really establish a name for yourself, and are competing in big events, you will earn a lot more obviously.

like someone else posted earlier; who is your friend? Anyone that gets $2+g a fight should have a decent enough record to look up on a simple google search to some extent. It really varies on the size of the association you're fighting under how much you get paid..a good friend of mine that puts on local fights only pays around $50 to $500 for someone to fight(www.rumbleinthering.com) and sometimes doesn't pay anything at all except maybe someone's travel expenses. I think the most I ever got was about 600 in canadian currency (but at least I've always had my travel expenses, hotel, food allowance for every thaiboxing match! woohoo) . To make a living at Thaiboxing you have to be the cream of the crop...and believe me those kind of fighters didn't make crap for money in thaiboxing until they got a lot of fights under there belt.
I think if your friend is doing NHB/mma style fights which you referred to as "ufc" kind of fighting than he is probably fighting on a show of at least King of the Cage caliber...either that or your friend is yanking your chain. You should always be getting your travel expenses, hotel, food allowance paid for if you're doing muay thai fights("amature" or "pro").
One thing I will say is that the longer you're in Muay Thai there is a huge gray area in between an amature and pro fighter...what I mean by that is that there are many amature fighters out there that have over 17 fights and get paid for some of there fights but are still considered amature?
