What's the story on this? Do you know where the web site got this video? People like this so called teacher piss me off! I had a sergeant in the Marine Corps who used to do this type of shit to us, and from there on I have hated people like that. Sooner or later that teacher will get his anyway.

Hmm.. What do you think? Should people assume it's normal behavior of all westerners when they see news of Scott Peterson?

The guy in the video is a chump... You'll see those types anywhere you go.

The website I got it from was big-boys.com ... pretty funny site actually... but this video took me aback... There is no other information associated with the video on the site.

Growing up with Japansese people I know their culture can be somewhat mean and downright militant but that is inexcusable. IMO i don't give a shit if he was the founder of the Big Mac i would at least stand up for myself(prolly get my ass handed to me but still) i'd pick up the stick and hit him with it....that's my 2cents...

i wouldn't mind teaching him a few lessons on basic human rights, morals, and manners.
he seems to be a pretty nasty dik head

Word to that man...I understand some teachers need to be strict and stuff but that was way overboard....what puzzles me is they're still studying with him...hmmm....

I've trained under a few instructors that taught like this...my favorite karate sensei would beat me with a kendo shinai if I didn't perform to his expectations, and I think the shinai would hurt a lot less than his huge knuckles. I used to get whacked with thai pads if I dropped my hands...
From what I can make out on the clip is that Sayama is so pissed off because everyone you see in the video getting beat by him is a fighter in training and obviously isn't performing as well as they should be. Have any of you ever watched the old video, Budo? The Sumo part on the video shows a young uchidesu sumo that can't do the splits so the sempai(senior students) force the kohai(lower rank)uchidesu into the splits. Some of the best fighters on the planet go through this kind of training, that's why being a fighter isn't for everyone. I do agree that this kind of training shouldn't be done in a general public class but I'm not shocked in the least to see this in fighter training.
This is kind of off track but someone brought up a Marine drill seargent; a good friend of mine and her husband are in the USMC and they were telling me how the husband did his week or two of the required USMC martial art system(forgot the name off hand) and the instructor was dumb enough to ask everyone in the class: "Who here thinks they can kick my ass, come up and show everyone"(or something along those lines). One of the new recruits was a Judo black belt and had about 4 years muay thai experience got up there and kicked the instructor's ass in about 6 seconds. I remember a similar thing happening in the movie starship troopers, what I would give to be present when this dumbass USMC "martial art" instructor issued that challenge I suppose that maybe 30-50 years ago what this USMC instructor did might have worked but today there are too many martial arts available to the general public to assume you're a better fighter than most.

                            the shooto guy

You may get a laugh out of this:
Sayama Satoru, the guy who founded "Shooto" eventually got voted out of the Shooto Association. That is, the founder got kicked out. The kendo shinnai incident was probably just one of many problems people had with this guy. Someone was saying something about what goes around...?

That was me who brought it up. Back when I was in the Corps, we had a fighting system called Line Training. As to it's effectiveness, I would not hold it in high regard. Anyways, our instructor was a dick, and frequently threw his weight around. I guess you can do that when you have a bunch of new marines around who won't do anything, but a few years later I saw him in Camp Pendleton, and one of my friends, who was with me in training, took care of him. Ah, sweet revenge!
