The first time was with a buddy and his wife who is very attractive. It seems like every time we were all out together, she would get approached, even with him standing right there with her. That night was no different. We were all hammered. A guy much bigger hit on his wife and the scuffle inside the bar was stopped by the staff. We got thrown out over it and as we were walking outside, almost to our cars, he and several others came rushing outside to stop us. It was my friend they were mad at, not me. The big guy wants to fight my buddy, and I am trying to calm them all down..verbally....(again, one of my points in the earlier post is use your verbal skills first). So, I had my arms spread out holding 3 of them back with several others behind them. I said it was going to be a fair fight if they were gonna fight. They agreed (boy how dumb was I). so, the big guy rips his shirt off and flex's (wtf...lol...yea he was built great, butwhat an ego). He throws a punch, misses...John parry's his second punch and tries to finger jab his eyes'...the guy rushes in to do a half assed shoot, John gets him in a guillotine......all at once all of his buddies rush the two of them....all at the same time, not one at a time. I began to pull them off one by one, talking the whole time trying to "break it up". No one was hitting me or even trying..I guess they didn't feel threatened since I was trying to stop it rather than take part. Then I realized the ones I was pulling off were now behind me and that didn't sit too easy, plus I was not making headway very quick. Well, at the time I used to carry a folder on me most of the time. Not to be a bad ass, I just like knives and trained with them whenever I got the chance. So, my drunk ass decides to pull the knife. I stepped back onto the curb pulled it out and open, held it in the air and shouted "get the **** off now"! Someone yelled "he's got a blade!" and fortunately for me, they all scattered immediately. Had I used it, I would have been in alot of trouble.
So, Aznwarrior....I am not lying, nor did I engage head to head with them, I was simply involved and came out unscathed. To this day though, I never carry any blades on me, ever. I save it for training at the school. That was the lesson learned.
The second incident was alittle more involved. I will post again on it in a few minutes.

Oh... my bad man. Its just seeing so many people in these forums talk about their "experiences" that are so obviously fake, or used merely to build themselves up(as if impressing an internet crowd is the point of this forum) My appologies. And yea... when your wasted not much good comes from it... knife+alcohol, not good. Wow though, sounds like a fun night though lol

LOL, it was fun up to that point, and afterwards talking about it. Ok, here is the other one:
I was out one night with two different friends, one a very good martial artist (one of my first instructors) and the other just a co-worker. The co-worker (bill) was an instigator also and thought since Rob and i were martial artists, that he could start shit and we would have his back. WRONG! I told him I was not saving his ass if he started trouble, he didn't listen. Anyway, something was said inside that started a ruccus (sp?). I knew the management and they allowed me to calm things down without kicking anyone out. So all was well for a while. As we were walking out, Rob or Bill (i forget) said we are gonna have a problem out here. I looked back and only one guy was following us. I said whatever, let's just go. We were walking towards the car and a bunch of them had came out already with their girls and wives. I look back and one of the chicks was in Bill's face pointing her finger right up by his nose....so he shoved her and she fell busting her ass on the rocks. Well, that was all it took and about 5 guys slammed him up against the wall and began to pummel. So Rob and I rushed over there. I once again talked first..very loudly and repeatedly about stop, stop, it's ok, no reason to fight..Hell, I forget now what all i said in my drunken stuper, just that it was passive, and just as I got them calmed down, with no one attacking me, I look over and Rob is kneeling down with 7 or 8 guys over top taking turns whaling on him, well, more like a thunderstorm of fists raining down on him. I managed to calm them down too, just to see the fight with Bill going all over again, so, I stopped it once again (this time for good), and went back to a repeated pile up on Rob. This time a big guy (keep in mind we are at a country bar..a bunch of big 'ole boys with shit kickers and a ten gallon hat) landed a hard punch on him and was cocking back to do it again....i grabbed his arm and pulled it back, as he stood up I grabbed him in a rear naked choke, but didn't apply it too tight. I said I was going to let him go if he calmed down, I let him go and he immediately turned and put a hand to my throat trying to drive me back against the wall. I grabbed his wrist with one hand and just as he was cocking back to hit me, I put the other hand in his face barely touching his eyes...I said "look man, I just wanna break things up. I won't hit you if you don't hit me". I was fully prepared to jam my thumb as far into his eye as possible...but he simply let go, as if what I said made him realize what he was doing. I told the rest to back off before the cops come and we are all in deep shit. So off we went. There was blood on my shirt and all over bill and Rob, but none of it was ours, so in the scuffle, they must have scored somewhere in there. I didn't throw one punch, only verbalized and controlled...and lucky enough, it worked that time.
Who knows the same crowd on a different night may have been worse.
Now I have been in scraps with 2 or 3 guys on just me and I actually fought, but it didn't take much when they are just big bags of wind and cannot really fight.
But the multiple attacker situation is very scary and anything can happen. It isn't like chuck Norris does it on T.V. Not even close.
So, there are my stories. Take it as you wish. No Bruce Lee action, just reality!

That's the distance you'd have to move your pinky in order to not sound like an idiot. I know the burden of pressing shift to capitalize is a great one, but c'mon, you can do better than that. I used to type emails in caps like yours, but then I decided that I didn't want a job mixing concrete.
I boxed 2 friends (Tyler and AJ) today, 2 vs 1
They are both about 180+ lbs im 132
So yeah that was fun, but didnt go really well. One part I remember distinctivly:
I started to rush Tyler, hitting with (jab jab cross jab) on the last jab, AJ crossed me in the left side of the head, i turned to give him a right hook to get him away, and I was left hooked in the body by Tyler, then rushed by both and punched to the ground.
I have come to the conclusion that, I would need to be very adrenalized and angry to ever win 2+ vs 1, you cant really concentrate on defense because attacks fly from all directions. You would have to just topple them offensivly, thats what I think anyway.

Wow Python, you gotta stop your friends man lol. Yea but its true that verbalizing can de-escalate a situation more times than not. And yes, its also true that anythng can happen in a multiper attacker situation, but so it could in any fight. I personally learned to fight by fighting, and only recently have gotten into any martial arts. I mean, I know personally ive taken out dudes twice my size, and been dropped by those half. Skill, power, and whatever else aside, ANY DUDE can take ANY DUDE at any given moment, for whatever reason, whether it be.... you slipped, he got a lucky shot or whatnot. Im gonna have to agree with the guy who posted last and say that fighting is bad period and should be avoided.

I think it depends on whether you want to become what you fear.
Beating up the school bully makes you just as much of a bully as they are.
You also have to deal with the retalition aspect or the next tough guy who wants to take your "crown".
I was given an ultimatium at my school to leave or to get kicked out because of the amount of fights I either started or was involved in. Looking back I wish I had stayed in school and studied harder instead of trying to be the tough guy. I advise you to do the same. Join some sport teams have some fun don't make school a place to dread. You're there to learn and to get an education so later in life you aren't looking back and wishing you hadn't smacked the guy over.......you're looking at the view from your penthouse apartment........Goodluck...........

1. Hit hard and fast. You need to take out the first opponent immediately and move to the next just as fast. Do not get slow.
2. Stay moving. Don't get cornered. If you do get cornered you need to go 120% against one opponent and break out. If you are lucky, take him down right there. Also, you can move around so that your opponents get crossed up, grouped in one spot, etc. Always keep them infront of you. Don't let them move around you. If you see someone trying something sneaky, do one last combo on your original target, then move into the second guy like hellfire. You really need to be an aggressive, ballsy, and super-conditioned boxer to take on multiple opponents.
3. Don't try the push kick high when they are moving in fast. Luckily my toe was only dislocated and my dad set it back in. But it could have easily been broke. My instructor at the time that I was just at that level where people start pushing the limits (but are still rookie) and start hurting themselves like that. But it does happen to everyone, so be prepared, lol.

On the topic of the street fight. I know a guy who carries more knives on him than you would want to do with. I want to train in kali and knife fighting, then I will carry a knife. Not with intent to use, that is pure imagination, it is just a tool for the right (well, wrong) situation. He also told me of friends who carry film canisters full of pepper. Just pop it open and throw the pepper in their face. Works wonders for your multiple attacker scenario because now (if it was two vs one) it is only one opponent. But don't pick a fight and always try to talk your way out, it's a lot better than being dead or permanently injured. The poor sob who followed my friend "knifey" out of the bar and tried some messed up stuff ended up with one of those knives in his throat (no, he didn't live). Courts decided it was justified self defense in case you were wondering. But man, don't end up like that poor sob, cause you never know...

own expierence
hey, from australia here, few months ago, me and 2 mates- both being smaller than i were confronted by some young guy (17 or so) saying we started on his mate at some party. funny thing was that we had all been down the local pub all nite drinking, so we tell him it wasnt us and to go away. we head up the street only to see behind us 4 cars full of 'goons' some young some old all jumped out and 3 (bigger) guys came up, one doing a martial arts stance at us. the rest of the guys (younger i think) were running around circling us with bats in their hands.,. all of them yelling and swearing at us. the martial arts guy grabbed me by the neck and tried to pull me form some reason, i smacked his hand off of us, luckly one of my mates knew some of the small guys from the local skate park. so he said to his mates it wasnt us, and we started to leave up the street again. big ego martial arts fella kept on coming saying '3 on 1!!! c'mon i`ll take ya.. bla bla bla' we kept on walking. but he came up to my mate who was behind us walking and did a round house kick to his leg, didnt do much, we told him to f*** off and kept on trying to walk away, then he kicked my mate again, so i turned around and faced him and walked towards him, then my mate gets hit in the head and flys into me, i pick him up and then see that all the other big thugs are running at us waving bats in the air, think thats been the fastest i`ve ever ran, we ended up running up the street to the corner and hid in a front garden of a house, while all 4 cars drove past slowly.. have to say there are some tossers out there.
so best bet i say is to run if outnumbered.

i dont no anything about mt but if you get into a fight(always try to avoid) but if they attack you TAKE THEM OUT THE FIRST TIME! DO NOT BE A NICE GUY AND STOP AFTER YOU SEE THEY ARE DOWN. I am still bothered by dudes from hs and i am in college now. because i listened to my tang soo do instructor and used his threat system. Ya know "if they grab you hand you dont have to be breaking bones." type of thing. just finish them off. dont kill them but dont take it easy on them because you can. trat them as if you were fighting much stronger than you.

Remind me never to get into a situation where there are 8 guys pummeling me against a wall (in reference to Python's experience), as that could possibly leave a mark. Fighting multiple attackers would be nuts though, after a few shots to the back of the head, you'd be spinning/disoriented, but then again the adrenaline could be pumping so much that you wouldnt notice you were being hit at all, but still I can't possibly see how a person could fend off 3+ people. 2vs1 I can understand if they are around the same size as the 1 martial artist and the 2 have no training. I just bought this Muay Thai book off Amazon,
And in the very first chapter there is a reference to a local Thai Boxer in Thailand who 5 thugs decided to try and mug and supposedly the Thai boxer put 3 in hospital and 2 just ran away. If thats true that would be pretty effing amazing. But then again all the Thai Muay Thai artists I have met have been so fast, they hit hard, and could easily move around at least 50% of my kicks. Sorry I rambled for so long, thats just my $0.02
