LOCAL ATHLETE GETS PROFESSIONAL WORLD TITLE SHOT
On Saturday July 23rd, in Vancouver BC, Calgary’s very own MuayThai golden boy, Trevor ‘TNT’ Smandych will get his first crack at a professional World Muay Thai title!!!
The WKL World Superwelterweight Muay Thai Title is up for grabs as Smandych takes on California’s Shawn Yacoubian from the House of Champions. Yacobian is viewed as a future star in the global K-1 Max promotion and a victory for Smandych will surely raise his stock on the world scene. Smandych takes a big step towards following the path of his coach, 3 time professional world champion Ajarn Mike Miles.
After compiling a sparkling amateur record of 36 wins, 5 losses and 2 draws with 19 KO's, Smandych turned pro and has not missed a beat, amassing an equally impressive professional record of 19wins, 2 losses 1 draw with 9 KO's
The Calgary Amateur Kickboxing and MuayThai Association are pleased to lend their support to Trevor ‘TNT’ Smandych. He is role model both in an out of the ring for up and coming Calgary amateur athletes, a true champion!!!
This will be a great fight and real test for “TNT” !!
