This is great that you have stepped up to offer these guys a way to settle the score like MEN! We need more of this...
Also, next time you put on fight maybe you could get a few more people from this board to showcase their skills. Just a thought...

Oh, and good luck at the nationals this year!!! (I think I've seen some of your fighters at the regional in Peoria before)

      Thanks Wolverine,

Hopefully these two can make it over and "do it in the ring". Do you train with Elliot Cooper's group? They are the only ones I know in Michigan..oh, wait, also Charles and Dan Pemble, I know them. I have 7 going to Orlando this year. They are all pretty green, but it should be a good time anyway...looking forward to it.

Yea, I think getting some of the talent form the board here is a good idea, just don't know how many would be able to travel very far. I don't know how many on here are from the midwest. I see alot of them are Canadian and from the western half of the states. But, Yea I guess it is worth a try, huh?

Our next card is November 5th, and it will be all female Muay Thai with one Pro female Muay Thai and one Pro female MMA. I think it will be a good one. Maybe I can get more from here on the one in Feb or March.

mm... LOL yo this is a sweeet chance I have been given. How much does it cost to get to Iowa? By plane? or By car most likely... my friend said he would drive me to muay thai fights if i ever went to fight in card. Let me think about this okay? I only have about $400... I don't know if that is sufficient. Will I be winning any money by any chance :O.. need more details!

          Swisscom,

If he drives you, $400 should get the job done, plus I will pay you back $100 for travel and see what I can do about lodging. You won't "win" any money as it is amateur, just paid the travel expense. I will PM you with details tonight. We have a great show lined up, it is worth the trip.

I recently moved to southern Michigan, but before that I trained with both Charles & Dan Pemble under Kak Koonnala. Those Pemble boys are as tough as they come! I've had many sparring 'wars' with them over the last few years! They are wonderful to train with, and I miss it a bunch. The training down here just isn't the same....
Anyway, keep up the good work! Maybe someday I'll be able to check out one of your cards...

I'm a little "iffy" about getting the money and travel situation together that quickly (I'm a college student, so, like old people, I'm essentially on a fixed income), much less starting to train for a fight that's two weeks out...if it were anywhere near me (Nevada, Idaho, Colorado, Wyoming, maybe even Oregon or California where I at least had people I could crash with), I'd be happy to come and help you match the fighters for your card, but I honestly don't have the money, nor the means to get there.

I'd love to come, but it's just not feasible at the moment, and I'd much rather tell you up front and have you find fighters to fill out your card, then to try and then not be able to make it a week from now for money reasons, or travel problems, because I've had a no-show before for a fight, and I felt that all of my training had been for nothing.

However, swiss...if you ever stop through SLC, hit me up, we could fight here; www.ucombat.com
they pay $100 to the winner, and they're IKF sanctioned. They do NHB and a mild type Kickboxing show (no knees no elbows, which takes away all my knee game)...every once and awhile they'll do a Thai match minus elbows.

or...we could set up a "smoker" match at some gym, or something.

Python, best of luck with your fight card.
swiss, best of luck with your fight.

Hmm... $100 to the winner, is there like an entrance fee? If there isn't, that system could be abused hardcore.
ps. Thanks for the "Good Luck", sorry to hear you cant make it.

                Python:
Money isn't really the issue now. I quit my job today (So I'll have time to train) *Note: That sentence may have thrown you off, I was quitting anyway*

                Uh, my major concerns now are these;
                1. My right hand has been hurting for about a week, it was feeling a little better today, so i punched my bag... and yeah it hurts again. It's a pain in between my top and middle knuckles.
                2. I'm not sure if im ready to start fighting... Wednesday I will have an answer for you, I'll ask to be "Tested" by Trevor Smandych, if he gives me the okay, then you probably have a fighter. The only doubt I have about myself is the conditioning. I have the cardio, and pain tolerance everywhere but my shins... Since I've never fought anyone without shinguards, I'm not sure if they are hard enough for fighting. BuUUUt I'm going to train my ass off as much as I can for this, I will attempt to make it! But it's really up to my friend and his car.
                3. I don't really know if I can trust you about this $100...That or I wouldn't want to goto Iowa for no reason This fight card may not even exist , you could be some master prankster :P

yeah, a 50 dollar entrance fee, plus a 20 dollar HIV test...but with that done you can fight for a whole season of fights (they have them every weekend).

However...I think they've changed the venue...to a Utah nightclub...which means neither one of US could fight there.

                  Life fucking sucks.

Cool...I like the Pembles. We got to know them a bit at last years' NAC over a couple dinners and then judging all day. Nice guys. Wish they didn't live so far away.

Thanks, look forward to meeting you one of these days.

Hey, thanks for the upfront honesty. Yea, "no shows" suck for both the promoter and the other fighter. Plus, I have been on that receiving end of no shows more than once when I fought as an amatuer, even a couple times as a Pro. There will be future events...maybe down the road we can get you on one of them around here. Again, thanks for being upfront.

1...Are you wrapping your hands before hitting, with hand wraps? And what size gloves are you using to train with. I have some suggestions depending on your answers.
2...Your shins will not be exposed. Let me explain the required safety gear as per the IKF Rules and Regs: As an amateur, you must wear headgear (no chin or face bar), shin/instep guards (so your shins will be protected), groin cup and mouth guard. I provide the gloves in which they are Title brand white knuckle 10 oz. gloves. The rules are "modified" Muay thai in which you cannot elbow or knee to the head, but knees to the body are allowed, and encouraged, lol.
3...Ok now, don't insult my professionalism. Go to www.roundkickrumble.com or www.teamroundkick.com and check out the event. Or, go to www.ikfkickboxing.com and look up "upcoming events" and you will find it. I don't screw around with "hokey pokey" shows. I put on quality, professional, exciting events. The fighters are paired fair and even and all have shown great skill level thus far (commensurate with their record or experience level of course). I am not a prankster by any stretch of the imagination and I do follow through on paying travel and all other costs I incurr with the events. That is what a professional does.

I have fighters coming from Duke Roufus' gym in MIlwaukee, Mick Doyle's gym in Omaha, NE. from Pat Miletichs' gym in Davenport IA, Rockford IL, Chicago Il, Decatur IL, Philly and Des Moines IA, and of course my team here in Carroll IA.

Let me know by wednesday please.

                            hold up...
I'm a little unsure about this, is it okay for a TBA guy to have a match with another TBA guy?
I want to know for the future, because I don't want to upset my TBA Khru, and I still try and consider myself a TBA guy before a "Sakasem" guy.

Yea it is ok for TBA to vs TBA. We do it all the time around here. Several years back, no one would do it, but they wouldn't get many fights either, cause most of them were all TBA, so that idea got nixed and fighters fight whoever is placed in front of them in the ring, TBA or not.

                                1. yeah I wrap my hands, and i train with 16 ounce gloves. although the wrapping method I use, the space between your top and middle knuckles is not covered.

                                2. ah.. well haha, can I keep those gloves by any chance :O LOL i need new ones bad.
