Here is Bruce Lee's training for the last few years of his life when he worked with weights. He emphasized that he uses weights not to build muscle mass, but to fight. He constantly improved his own training methods, read all kinds of bodybuilding magazines. Also, his work with a punching bag, diet, endurance training (examples of his training schedule) are described. He trained constantly, the day off is only Sunday. The book is very interesting, as it was compiled not by rumors, Tao of Jeet Kune Do, ”which mainly contains reflections on the martial arts and the place of Jeet Kune Do in them, as well as drawings of techniques made by the hand of Bruce Lee himself.

it’s a pity that it’s sometimes difficult to remember what I read 20 years ago when it was relevant for you, but I remember some similar phrases, especially about Joe Lewis

Is this the book you speak of?

Thai Boxing Dynamite by Zoran Rebac

edited to add: I've got this book and I think it's pretty good. It gives an overall view of Muay Thai and techniques. I haven't read any of the others to compare it to though.
