  • left or right lead stance?

do you primarily box from left lead or right lead stance?

what would make you change stance in a fight to get an offensive/defense edge?

how are your weapons left to right? as compared to speed/strength?

Ilike to switch stance and throw a few left round kicks, using this a few times can set them up for a switch stance then lead hand (right) uppercut, I actually landed that in sparring on a very good former pro Thai boxer, who shall remain nameless.

I remeber sparring with a guy, (both of us left leading) and I got battered for three mins every time I sparred him, he was awsome. I practiced right stance or south paw, on the punch bag at home for a few weeks, continuing to receive beats regularly. Anyway, I got a feel for it, and one sparring class switched. I still got battered but for the first round he got a beating until he worked a way into me, it did work, but unless I trained south paw for months at a time, power and speed would always suffer, but doing a switch is a sure fire way to confuse and work your opponent in my opinion and experience, got me a good breathing time, and also spoiled his work, and rate too. Try it.

i`m the only south paw at my gym, and oh boy does it annoy the hell out of everyone else when we spar, a few of my mates are getting used to my stance and finding ways to get past it. but with people i havent sparred they find it real annoying to spar with me.. dunno if its a good thing or not..
