Just began taking muay thai about a week ago and I guess I had a few questions regarding how experienced most fighters are before they have their first fight...I was going to figure about 2 years, what does everyone here think?

I've had 2 guys step into the ring after 1 month of MuayThai. Both won by 1st round KO. They each followed up their 1st match with a 1st round KO in their 2nd matches, about 2 months later.
DISCLAIMER: It was their 1st MT match after 1 month of MT training. Both had previous training.
Now that I've gotten the exceptions to the rule out of the way.... I would say most people are ready for to step into the ring for the 1st time somewhere between 6 months - 2 years.
I did so after 6 months of training. I was able to do so, however, because the level of competition in those days (early 90's) on the East Coast was, uh... a bit lacking. Not to take anything away from the competition, but the sport was just starting and we were all very inexperienced.
For most people, I would say about 1 or so years of training should be enough for you to start considering whether or not you wish to compete.

I've been training MT for a little over a year and my first fight is in 2 months.
That's awesome you are a fellow student at Plus One. I may be there wednesday morning before we head up to train at Sityodtong, Boston. Might I suggest you talk to Kru Pete about the saturday 3-hour camp style class for our fighters. When you are ready to fight of course
Peace
