How long until safe to travel to Thailand?

Anyone have any kind of idea how long until this takeover is completed and everything goes back to normal?

I was planning a Jan trip and dont want to go till everything has settled.

Im in Bangkok now and its completely safe, the military coup seems pretty favoured by the public, no trouble at all.

I was going to chime in and say it was never unsafe to travel to Thailand at any time during this coup.

Personally I would wait a week or two just in case. Supposedly the coup should end by then.

The Junta had announced they will declare a Prime Minister today, who will stay in office until October 2007. Will post declaration announcement if it happens...
