Nice, there are some similarities, even the blade widens towards the tip like Thai and Burmese swords. Even if these were replicas they were being used as real swords.

Beautiful forms, I love the overall body and swords movement and the low stances.

I just tried all the links and they worked. Are you on a work computer that blocks some sites, etc?

    Hi All,

I have limited knowledge about this sword. It seems a bit different from what I've seen. Normal Darb for center part of Thaland is about 37-40 inches long , 24-28 inches for blade and about 10-14 inches for handle. But in the northern part, Darb is smaller and shorter. Blade will be around 20-24 inches and the handle is about 8-10 inches.

    Those sizes are roughly figures....

For the bigger and longer sword, it supposes to use for horses legs. But it's not this size and shape....

BTW, Here are a lot of people who know about Darb.

You can post some questions there. Most of the threads're started in Thai but lots of users there were educated abroad and speak english very well.

I really loved the look and feel of the long weapon. At first I was wondering if it was a two hand weapon like a samurai sword for a powerful two handed swing.

Maybe black crown can take a look and let us know his thoughts on it.

I guess it could have been used in both situations, but I would give the preference to the cutting elephant legs down as those on top of the elephants would have been more at ease with spears or maybe arrows?
