Thabnks for all the great stuff William; I am proud your group is taking the ball and running with it. At this time we have fighters in Canada and some parts of the U.S. and slowly we are getting together, using the Dog Brothers' model. I cannot thank Arlan Sanford, Mark Denny and Eric (et al) for exposing a lot of people to full contact fighting, what I call the real mixed martial arts...lol Anyway, we have active groups now in California (Marines pre-deployment overseas), Rhode Island (Mongrel Combative Martial Arts), and Vancouver BC (through Loki Jorgensen, another Dog Brother). It just takes a little time, but things are definitely improving since I started heavily promoting Thai National Marts in 1995. Thanks to everyone from all of us who went to the Buddhai Sawan.

      Thanks Ajarn!

We're training hard and having a blast. Can't wait to get together with you again!

      Until next time my friend,

4th Annual Krabi-Krabong Workshop, Bellingham WA on April 10. I will be covering both Enlisted Mens' & Command Officers' Krabi-Krabong styles, with emphasis on attack/defense, tactics/strategy, strengths/exploitable weaknesses of each style. Structured for beginner to more advanced students, this should help clarify the current perceived dichotomy between ancient and modern muay Thai, muay Boran, muay Kacheuk & Krabi-Krabong (which encompasses all). Please contact TCMA.biz if you wish to come. Thanks

          Hi Steve,

Unfortunately on short notice I will be unable to attend. I certainly wish a great turn out and I know the training will be excellent.

          Just an FYI….
My group and I have been training hard and we’ve even started taking it outside again with the warmer weather. We’ve added some more people to the fold and they are coming along nicely. I have a young woman who has been training MT with me for a while who is tough as nails. In the beginning some of the guys went light on her but they found out real fast that’s not a good idea. She’s just started getting into the KK and I think she’s going to come along quickly. You’d like her a lot.

I’ve also got The First Annual “Krabi In The Park Summer Series” in the works. Besides the training at the gym, I’m planning two early evening sessions a week at a local park for the summer. Extra training and sparring for gym members plus a chance for others to check it out without having to join.

I'll have more photos to share up soon.

          Thank you for everything Ajarn!!!

          Your friend,
          William

            Hi Ajarn,
I'm going to add a few training and full contact photos to the thread. I'll have to come back and edit in descriptions later since I'm short on time at the moment. Basically re-countering and attack flow to a countering side step.

            Enjoy,
            William

PS: I see your PM and will reply soon.

Sometimes they don't. A Mai Sok against the shin is not a fun thing to expereience.

I am so proud of the Rhode Island group, and the Vancouver BC group. They have taken the minimum I have shown them and used the martial arts to become themselves. What more could I ever hope for? I know now that the Thai National Martial Arts will thrive in the Americas, particularly as more and more muay Thai stylists discover that Krabi-Krabong fit better than any other empty hand/weapons system combinations out there. Personal thanks to my mentors PaKroo Masamarn, Surachai Sirisute and Dan Inosanto for their faith and patience.

Thank you for your encouragement Ajarn. I think you like some of the things we've been working and fighting....picts and video soon.

                        Take care,

                        William

In my limited experience of real fights, complex movements didn't
even come to mind. Also fights that I saw, forget about complex movements.
When sparring for real, the same applies.

In sword fighting or even KK, there aren't complex movements.
Oh yes, maybe when dancing the sword (or woodden sword) then you have them,
but performing them in a fight would be very dangerous in my opinion.

You dont anything about krabi krabong--how can you suddenly be an expert?

Obviously, you dont spar or fight because your points are always about something like form. So you are critical of people who fight in kk or muay thai or boxing or mma. You cant--- so you criticize. Same as many teachers do.

You dont understand chaiya but you lecture on it.

You certainly dont understand krabikrabong but you lecture on it.

You cant fight but you criticize it.

                            See the problem here?

Also you insulted all the american and european kk instructors. And you wont get around that. If you have a problem with any of them we can connect you direct and we'll see how your coward ass deals with that.

In reference to "novices" you must be referring to yourself I assume. Because the only novice is YOU.
