Well, number 1, it's pretty hard to insult me. The reason most combat is very basic is because mistakes and luck play a very huge part in real-life combat. When I was a team leader in Vietnam, with hardly more than a few months' experience, we killed a Senior NCO of the North Vietnamese Army when everything should have been in his favor but...that's how it goes. Most older (read senior & more experienced) instructors in every martial art concentrate on basics. That is why they are called basics, after all, and if you cannot do the basics there is no way in hell you can do anything more difficult. Another, perhaps more appropriate analogy for this particular situation: Many times a baby will try to run before it can walk, but sooner or later he always falls down.

I met Kru Mud and some of his students three years ago, they were
teaching Chaia basics and they were nice, I talked to him and to one
of his top students because his English was good and I didn't see or hear ANY
of the nonsense spread here on the forum.
Actually we also talked about how muslims and buddhists trained
together in the same school without problems, so I guess and hope that this
guy is an exception.
