I heard that a good, clean kidney shot could be lethal but I don't know if it's true.
Here's a video showing an idiotic Russian guard hitting a boy on the kidney for no reason. I hope they arrested that scum.
In my competition days maaany moons ago I knocked a few people down with a left hook to the liver,mo monet shot! also the close range jump spinning back kick to the liver is a great shot(Im not kidding) used sparingly in a match and as a counter to hands or as a follow up to a landed left hook to the liver it is a great kick.
Firecobra, thats cool. I just remember it because bas rutten used it alot when they used to slap(open hand)in the standup in pancrase and he always said go for the liver shot when he was a color commentator when someone went to the body.

Thanks George,of course a left shin to the liver is also a great shot and a left knee which I particularly like nowadays.
The thread got me thinking about more pinpointing a shot, as i get better, and my body is really reacting better and better to finding the openings, i am now working on a bit more precision in landing the shots. This has helped my thinking and understanding.
I remember trying to hit Hippy Sigmani in sparring with a left hook to the liver, which as I said earlier was a real good shot for me a few years ago, anyway not a chance! I got elbowed from his right side and kneed from his right side or he just stepped away before I could land the shot(all of this was controlledplay of course).
This is the thing Ive found when you stand in front of a real experienced fighter they see every little telegraph you make and already are hitting or moving you in return, simply awesome.
Thats so TRUE, firecobra. Did you also find once they score something, they immediately set it up again with a fake or something which becomes even more frustrating. Thats what i mean about a good fighter, that damn timing, rthym and distance, been working on that.
