Krabi Krabong

Hey out there. I am interested in learning Krabi Krabong. There are very few places that teach it in the U.S.A and none around where I live. I have tried to find instructional videos on the internet without success. All I find are dead links or vids in German or something.

Does anyone know where I might be able to get some instructional videos in English? Please let me know it will be much appreciated.

I know Muay Thai. I want to learn the weapons.

Chalambok is the source you should check with. He is the highest ranked (by the Buddhai Swan/Thai Government) active Krabi-Krabong instructor in the U.S. If anyone knows where to get them, it's probably him.

BTW, the Dog Brothers have a KK video out. I haven't seen it yet so I can't comment. It's probably more oriented to useing KK from a stick fighting stand point then strictly KK (but I could be wrong).

Hey, I have been talking with my friend JR about that big flag he has over his house, it's blocking my view from the dump!

Darianation, Arlan Sanford lives in Santa Fe NM. Is that too far? Glenn Boodry lives in Pocatello ID. Is that closer? I live in Portland OR and am the only instructor licensed to travel the world for seminars (nudge, nudge, wink, wink, hint , hint) that lives in the United States, whatever else you may hear.

All egos and political BS aside, you cannot go wrong with anyone who has completed the instructor's course at the Buddhai Swan. But the crux is, only a very few have, and we are hard to find because for the most part we cannot afford to advertise, having spent our life's fortunes traveling to train. Which, if you really wish to learn Krabi-Krabong, you will probably have to do. How many people have promised to bring me in for a seminar? At least 100 from the 2000 Pacific Northwest Muay Thai Camp alone. But they are like 99% of the people whom you meet at this site, very much full of themselves and little else.

Chalambok Good to hear from you. I was going to send you an email. That is really cool you’ve been to the Buddhai Swan to train. I’ve read a lot about it. Santa Fe is about 3.5 hours from me much closer than Idaho. I have trained in Muay Thai and never gave much thought to Krabi-krabong until the last couple of years. It started as an itch but now is a full blown rash. I guess the older I get the more I want to experience Martial arts that’s not all about getting into the ring and knocking each others brains out. I just want to expand my horizons a bit. I have never been into weapons really I haven’t studied them much. I did do arnis for 2 years. So I know a little stick fighting.

I’ve looked in to going to Thailand this summer but finances not good enough. My wife wanted to go with me and the airfare was about $640 per person (1280) then if my wife goes then I have to take the kids…To steep for me.

So is this Arlan Sanford an instructor too (KK)? I wonder if maybe I could go down on some week ends and he could train me. How can I get a hold of him? I guess I can see if he’s listed. I am going to train with master Toddy this fall and have all my extra cash tied up with that. So can’t a ford to leave work for any length of time.

If we ever get this martial arts center going here we’ll love to have you come and do a seminar. I’ll keep in touch. Also do you have any instructional materials (videos, books, articles), or do you know where I could get some? Let me know because what ever happens I won’t be able to train full time except on my own.
