  • Where to train Muai Thai and/or San Shou in NYC/Hudson County NJ

I live in Hoboken NJ, right next to Jersey City and NYC is just a subway stop away. I was wondering if anyone can tell me where a good place to train in Maui Thai and/or San Shou in the area, and I could very well do a search in google or yahoo, I'm asking if anyone could speak for a gym that they've trained or are training at now.

You're in a very good area for Muay Thai...

Master Kumron "K" Vaitayanonta gets my highest endorsement. He lives in Paterson, NJ, and teaches at a number of different schools in the NJ/NYC area, including Renzo Gracie's Academy. I've been training under Master K since 1992, and he has coached me to three amateur title fights (though I only won 1...)
    Tell him "Brooks" referred you!

Thanks a lot for your reply! do you know when he teaches at Renzo's? Cause i've been meaning to go to Renzo's place for a while but i've never had the money, forutnately now I join the BJJ club here at school, and we're going to go there to train on the weekends eventually.

I don't know K's schedule, but his phone # is listed on the website I provided. Why don't you give him a call? Tell him Brooks says "HI!"

I was just at Renzo's place tonight for the first time and got to see Master Kumron "K" Vaitayanonta for the first time also. I have his card, so I am gonna e-mail him b/c I have a few questions for him. The funniest thing was when one of the students was practicing his kicks on him, he said "you wanna kiss me or kick me?" That dude is impressive given his age level.

Aw man, you don't know how big of a smile that just brought to my face!!!! GOD I MISS HIM!!!! Training with Master K has got to be one of the most fulfilling experiences of my life!

It doesn't hurt that he's funny as hell!!!!

When you talk to him, please give him my regards. I hope to see him in November! I'm bringing some fighters up Nov. 8th for the huge USKBA event at the RexPlex in Elizabeth, NJ...
