  • Are woman too weak to truly be competitive in Muay Thai.

I have seen many fights. The injuries are very high. Many of my friends including my sparring partner say that women should not be allowed in the ring for Muay Thai. It is not my personal opinion but I am curious as to the answer to the above question. Make it interesting girls. I might just be persuaded to believe my friends if it is not.

Since you are referring to the ring, I am guessing you mean women versus women, right? Cause women versus men is pretty obvious and besides, it's been discussed about 40 gabillion times.

The injury rate in Muay Thai is what it is, and I think if an athelete goes in knowing the risks, then that's their business.

Um, yeah, that's not much of a discussion generator - but it's all I got right now...

          It's not my opinion

It's good to see that the level of intelligence in this forum is at an alright level. Woman vs Woman was my focus but I'm just stating a valid opinion of some other male fighters. I don't see sex when I look into a group of fighters preparing for a tournament or training along side me in a gym. all I see is a fighter. I would still like more input on this opinion from some of the males in this forum. And anyway some female fighters might actually be able to stand up against some of the male fighters.

I don't understand the question? Why SHOULDN'T a woman fight in the ring? What on earth would be a good reason? Is her pain somehow more real than mine? Do her injuries mean more to her than mine do to me? I just don't get it.

an example of Female MT mentality

I saw an interview with a woman fighter called Karen Ousey & she seemed quite cocky, making comments like " duh, I think that women should definetly fight and some of us are better than the men at it" or words to that exact effect.

So, I say then, get in the ring with your same weight Male equivalent then.

On another point re women in MT, I guess it takes the sort of gal that just doesn't care about things like permanently damaged ovaries or other soft female bits......errr, yuck to girls fighting, I know I am probably being a bit old fashioned but I wouldn't really enjoy seeing 2 bimbs socking at each other unless it was down at the grocery store

oh, & get into the damn kitchen, barefoot biatch............

I wonder how many guys think the same as you do on this issue HuSanYan. Would you honestly condone intergender matchups such as this in the UFC or in the streets? I am really interested to know the answer to this one from some of the males like Thai Bri or Retired

Zero18, to be completely honest with you, I sometimes get a bit carried away with trains of thought, no I wouldn't like to see male vs. female any type of fight, its wrong and unfair (assuming that both counterparties are trained equally), it was the cocky look about that particular girl that bugged me a bit, there was some mild man hating (or just plain old battle of the sexes crap) beneath her words and expressions and i didnt like the fact that she was training and strongly encouraging her very young daughter to fight aswell, i mean give a young un a chance to get a point of view for crying out louds sake, poor little might, I sure as hell wouldnt put any kid of mine in any ring until they were at least 21 and fully developed bone growth wise.
                    regards

                              If you want to.

I don't really care about gifts and such. You are now added to my buddy list. Two great minds think alike wouldn't you say. Look forward to talking with you more.
