after you throw a kick, keep your leg out and try to balance it there for a while. And stretching helps 2.

I know this sounds worn out but need to try to put some bodywieight behind it. No strike is any good if you only use the striking part of your body to apply it. I have also noticed that many people for some reason try to "grow taller" when kicking, i.e. they rise their shoulders, extend their supporting leg, maybe even rise to their toes, which all in general dissipates your eneregy in a wrong direction.
Hope I was of some help.

Gagi no it doesn't dissipate our power, we keep our head as far away from the ground and our opponents legs as possible to keep from getting knocked the frik out.
