§ 11-47-42 Weapons other than firearms prohibited. – (a) No person shall carry or possess or attempt to use against another any instrument or weapon of the kind commonly known as a blackjack, slingshot, billy, sandclub, sandbag, metal knuckles, slap glove, bludgeon, stun-gun, or the so called "Kung-Fu" weapons, nor shall any person, with intent to use unlawfully against another, carry or possess a dagger, dirk, stiletto, sword-in-cane, bowie knife, or other similar weapon designed to cut and stab another, nor shall any person wear or carry concealed upon his person, any of the above-mentioned instruments or weapons, or any razor, or knife of any description having a blade of more than three (3) inches in length measuring from the end of the handle where the blade is attached to the end of the blade, or other weapon of like kind or description. ....I usually carry a knife, brass knucks, or both. Used to strap a pipe to my leg, but can't in the summer(shorts). ....

....some places dull the point so it's not illegal, you can re-sharpen it yourself if you want... I still think it would be a formidable weapon without the sharp tip, but I have mine sharpened.

Total junk there. Even 35 bucks is cheap. If you want a good quality weapon, you're gonna have to spend the money. Cold Steel makes one (about $140), and their quality is usually pretty good, but since I have never handled one personally, I can't say for sure that it'll be quality. http://www.coldsteel.com/88scm.html

If you don't have a concealed carry permit, don't even go there. Sword canes are highly illegal otherwise.

Cold steel does make a great basic cane. Very sturdy and comfortable. The basic model doesn't look too threatening, but it has that nice ridge on the cap.

That cane masters site has some awesome canes! I don't know about the instructional vids, but their canes look good. Definately go with the hickory rather than the oak if you get one.

Thanks, those "City Sticks" look great. I wouldn't carry anything that could get me arrested but I doubt anyone would give me grief for a walking stick. It's great living in a neighborhood where things are in walking distance Why do you recommend hickory over oak?
