i have never got into a fight with a guy bigger than me, just to let you know I am probably considered a medium size guy, 145 pounds 5'11.

but if I was to say face a guy around 6 foot, 200 or higher pounds, good shape ,what would I go for?
I mean could I take out his legs with a roundhouse?
also throwing punches for his gut is probably useless, can't really get to his chin since he is taller, grappling would be hard cause he could overpower,

so, if some guy was comin for me, i could not get away, had no weapon, what do I do?

p.s bauer I did not mean any offense by any of my comments earlier

Actually, you might learn more and not come off sounding like a 12 year-old.

              yeah, I don't think so

anyways, what I said was based on what happened at my school, those guys were never picked on for a fight, but when they did fight they had no bloody technique but just used pure strength to clobber the other guy.

even with good fightin skills i would still be bloody scared to take on a guy that big

lol.. I don't always go on my feelings, lots of it is from experience
I'm 6 foot 265 pounds(as of this morning) And love training and sparring. Also, I still deal with people trying to mess with me because when someone sees me they don't see some huge ogre guy like you're talking about they see an average person. Once again that's you basing what you're thinking off of what you are feeling.(Or the feelings you get from experiences)

I spar with a person who fights at 155 and he doesn't seem to fear taking me on one bit. I guess it just depends on your mentality.

You still do base alot of things off of your feelings. I'll try to cut you some slack because you said your 19. And the "fact" is that your brain between 19-23 will go through another stage of developing where you will be able apply critical thinking and assessment.

                Here's a quote I got from this site. http://www.learningdiscoveries.org/S...ntegration.htm

"16-21 years of age sees refinement of cognitive skills, wholemind/body processing, social interaction future planning and investigating new ideas and possibilities

After 21 years of age, elaboration and refinement of the frontal lobes (the site of reasoning) takes place. Global dendritic formation and systems thinking with a high level of formal reasoning are developed, emotional tone is refined - altruism, love and compassion, insight and further refinement of motor skills is effected. There is usually a growth spurt of dendritic formation and neural net development in the frontal lobes. It is the time when people realise their parents are smarter than they thought, as emotional refinement allows for insight leading to altruism and love."

I find that science helps me tolerate people...sometimes

Wow. Why don't you check out progressive synaptic pruning, old timer. At 21 I have more working neurons than you...so...

Altruism? Love? How about a decrease in vitality, passion, and imagination? The only good thing about turning 21 is that I can now (as of Nov. 1st, 2006) walk through the doors of the liquor store and stock up on JD.

Man this is becomeing a fun thread!

No offense taken Jiu-fu, its all in good fun

Truth is I get somewhat sick of the big guy stereotype though. I am 6'1" and 247lbs with 14% body fat, so I am not small or out of shape. If a guy your size needed to take me out fast in a situation where you were attempting to get away, your best asset will be your speed. You will move faster than me, it is just the way it is. Get me first with a push kick (teep) to the knee, then get the hell out of there. I would not recomend the roundhouse to the leg because big guys tend to have very well developed quadriceps, which will protect that nerve you are trying to hit. Do not try to punch a big guy in the gut. If he is fat, he has a lot of protection and he might have abs under there. If he is like me or Justafighter you might as well go punch a wall. I supose you could also go for the thoat, but if he is ready you might not succeed and then you are in a world of shit. Bear in mind that big guys like me are just as susceptible to jujitsu as the next guy. One of my BJJ friends can own me at will and he is 80 pounds lighter than me. On the streets though, that would probably be a bad idea, as you will get rocked by anybody that is friendly with the big guy.

If anything it was more of a post of how I learned to have patience in what comes out of the "all knowing" teenager's mouth.

However, that doesn't give you a free pass on this forum.
