Let me clarify,
I fully agree with this statement. I was referring to a problem I see in some students who lack the “wiliness to engage” rather it is an opponent out in front of them or a pad feeder. SOME students lack that “willingness” and getting them to emotionally engage helps them ramp up from 0-1000mph in a controlled way and they actually hit the pads, target, or opponent harder. But not every one has that problem.
When you are angry your body's reaction is to tense all over causing the all the muscles to flex and drawing power away from your strikes because there is a muscles pulling that shouldn't be.
