Don't blame me for your mental limitations. I do not 'practice' that, would not recommend it, do not consider it a 'go to' option or anything of the like. That is what happened in the situation I described. That was not the last time someone came at me with a knife and it never occured to me to try it again as if it were a 'response' I associate with that kind of situation. Now Excrement may in fact be too stupid to understand this, but YOU are deliberately being dishonest here.

Even though I have actually done that, the circumstances were very specific and I would never be so irresponsible as to have anyone 'practice' it with a play knife and then send them out into the world with the notion that they could do the same thing. I have no illusions that I could do the same thing again even under the same circumstances. It is just what happened at that time.

Weather or not GJJ is good for street SD.

I think the consensus of people who have been in SD situations, military or civilian, outside of Anime, is that it really isn't the most practical SD method.


It may have a few saving merits for a slight number of situations, but it doesn't teach avoidance or deescalation form the advos I seen. Nor does it seem to teach effective or intelligent defense against weapons or multiple opponents.

Now I know that goes against some people's opinionsthat are based solely on sport art expedience, and of course #2 pencil table top physics,but facts is facts and opinions usually wind up being somebody's hurt feelings.

Which are then converted to name calling and avoiding backing up anything they say with actual proof that they even can stand without the aid of a well built counter top to lean on.
