It's not that I hate when people defend themselves, GQ, or learning how to defend themselves. It's how self defense schools go about instilling fear into their students. Now we all love to train (I hope), but there are those who make training miserable with paranoid scenarios in order to keep students. Promises of secret lethal techniques, oriental mysticism, all of these are unnecessary. It's a simple matter of training hard using effective methods. Sadly, this isn't enough for the brainwashed masses it seems.

Of course it is the right of those who wish to train in unrealistic methods just as it is the right of those who would seperate a fool from his money. We also have the right to voice our own opinions on the matter. Now some would like to ban posters who don't follow the party line, or make accusations that have nothing to do with the matters discussed. I suppose that's their right too. But if you honestly care about people, you do your best to learn and teach realistic training methods for the betterment of each others well being.

That was beautiful, WildWest. Based firmly on reality and not in the basement of a grown mans mothers house while watching a Steven Siegal marathon. Now we are getting somewhere thanks to you. Straight to the point. I would have gone with a bit more flair, but I understand, you're a cop.

Is a frontline cop the same as a beat cop? Did you do something wrong or do you just like the action? (sorry, I just don't want you to miss out on the flinging and such)

I'm not too sure what a beat cop does but a frontline cop is first response basically. We go where the dispatcher tells us to go and are first on the scene.

I like the unpredictability of the job, but I don't like to fight. I enjoy training and sparring and wrestling and rolling but not for real. Remember cops HAVE TO WIN which makes it challenging. Every situation is different though.

No I haven't eye gouged a bikie. Most them are too busy trying to make big bucks cooking meth to cause much problems. I have used the "Shredder" before though and it's worked a treat. Check out Welcome to Senshido for what the Shredder is and their philosophy for real world violence...if you're interested.

We seem to have an abnormally high violent crime rate here in Humboldt County. We also have a very high rate of CANCER for some strange reason?
