Wow now it's racist to call sumo wrestlers Japanese or is it cause he called them fat?

Since this reply of yours makes no sense whatsoever. Or are you trying to say your homosexual status is now a race and your panties got wadded because he brought it up?

Yes you seem to have some, thanks for asking to have it pointed out.

What did I tell you, DJForest?

That idiot jubidoo will say and accuse anyone of anything to get their undivided attention. He's an attention whore. Just like all doggies are. Right now he's wagging his tail and getting excited at his computer because you seem to care.

We both know that he won't man up and discuss anything worthwhile.

We both know that he's an ass kisser to such a disgusting degree that he has brown streaks across his head and body.

Let him feel like what he's doing is important. He certainly puts LOTS AND LOTS of time and effort into it.

Its probably a healthy outlet for him.

That still doesn't change the fact that he'd rather request and exchange "war stories" on the internet than go see for himself. He's a pussy that way and he's ok with that. A lot of people who have frequented this site are the same. This site was aptly nicknamed "Pretend.net" for a damned good reason.

So let's just agree to say "**** it" and do what feels right at any given moment.

              .

I guess that's why you ignore me all the time. Good idea.

My "reading comprehension" comment was based directly on the fact that a certain someone's conclusion did not match my comments to which he was referring. I agree that the entire subject was off-topic but then another certain someone brought it up in the first place, not me.

But I continue to digress...back to the topic...

Now, back to the topic at hand:

I would, in the spirit of learning and open discussion, be interested in hearing from the proponents of RBSD (to which this sub-forum is dedicated) of real and specific instances where they relied on their training and how that worked out for them. I believe that is exactly pertinent to this topic. I do not ask in order to denounce anyone's training or philosophy (unlike, of course, others here) and I will take any and all examples at the word of whomever offers them. No trick, no insult, no kidding.

I don't disagree that you should have some real contact to learn what you are doing. bruises bumps and broken bones happen in training. Some times cuts and scratches too huh Tant?

Getting wacked upside the head is part of the learning process. If you don't get hit then you're just learning to dance.

I'm with you Tanto. I had the advantage of some formal training from been there done that's, when I was a kid. had an uncle who was a bar boxer in Tennessee in his younger days, and another uncle who was a wrestling coach.

I fought a lot as a teen, and got jobs bouncing in clubs and bottle clubs in my early 20's. I've had a few bottles busted on me, and I've had some holes sewn shut as well.

I've never had the pleasure of having to explain things to the law. they never seemed to get involved. Strip clubs and bikers not there favorite call.

You learn somethings as you go, but it's not good to try to learn all of the in the heat of the moment.
Not matter what it's never pretty and it always seems to leave a bad taste in your mouth.

Wow, that's a job that can get hairy real quick. I had the opportunity to do security work at a casino here, but I had just got engaged and decided not to. My son is 4 and he already mimics some of the forms.

I'm gonna have to step it up to be able to handle him when he's a teen. (-:

Would you ever reccomend to someone becoming a Doorman to get practical OJT in self defense?

NOt really. You have a good chance of getting gang attacked going to your car after the work day (night) is over. On top of that drunks aren't the best people to learn off of. Beating up drunks is easy.

If you really want practical combat experience, either join the armed forces or become a contractor. Being a doorman only draws wannabes punks and people who really have no clue.

You'll get in more fights with guys wearing "NO Fear" shirts than you will with people you can learn from.
