  • Hey Koto Ryu, I've lived here most of my life, so I am immune to koala and kangaroo attacks the way I am immune to attacks of cryptococcus neoformans gattii.

As for turning my glass upside down - are you kidding? If ever there is a glass, I am drinking out of it!

Well Marines were never known for being too bright at times My buddy got the shit kicked out of him by a kangaroo and a mother koala tangled up in his hair during the same day, all at the petting zoo

This was after the night of drunken partying where we ran to our cars because our Australian friends warned us of killer wombats

What the????? Yeah, you have to watch out for those killer wombats ,otherwise known as drop bears, dangerous things.
What on earth did your buddy do to the kangaroo? Did the people at the park not tell you they don't like being poked with sticks!!!! I imagine that would hurt (never being kicked by a kangaroo I would not know, but I have a friend who had a kangaroo come through the windscreen...true story). That koala (nice to see you did not call it a koala bear!!!) would have hurt too seeing as they have REALLY long claws. I am so with Cakegirl about the glass, why would anyone turn it upside down? Though I think there is more to it, I am not offended if you turn my glass upside down.....as long as it is empty!!!!!!!!! And if you are going to turn my glass upside down I would not hurt you, just consider it your shout. I, like Cakegirl, have lived here (Australia) most my life and am immune to most attacks (this generally involves not getting in the way of the animals), I also speak English, have electricity in my home, do not own a koala and do not ride a Kangaroo to work (just some of the questions people have asked me over the years). Crikey, this is a long reply.

They had a sign showing you how to feed them, and it warned you not to raise the food away from the big ones. An adult one kept eating all our food and Joe wanted to feed the little joeys, so I was distracting the big one. He came bouncing over to Joe, Joe raised up his hand so the kangaroo couldn't get the food, and it just started kicking the crap out of him. He was all purple on the left side the next day

They were filed down a bit since it was a petting zoo, but it wasn't too happy that Joe was petting its little baby.

We dunno either but some short squat ugly guy with three teeth came over telling us how nobody was looking for trouble in there but if we wanted to fight they'd be happy to oblige. And we were like "Huh?" That's when they noticed we were from the States.

            • LOL

I lived in Finland for a year and went to high school, and I was always asked to do talks on Australia. I'd always ask the audience if they had any questions, and inevitably there would be "do you have sharks", "tell us about the snakes/spiders/etc" and "do you have crocodiles". To that, I'd say "Yes", and the next question would be "do they eat people" and I'd answer "Yes, but only Americans"...

The reason? Because when any other nationality sees a sign that says "No swimming, there are crocodiles", they go OK and don't swim. But the Americans say "I can't see any", and swim anyway...

And when a sign tells an American not to hold the food up away from the kangaroos, what happens? He holds the food up away from the kangaroos and gets kicked.

Seriously, though, I'm with Polegirl - American men are great

                      • LOL LOL LOL. Actually it is not just American's who get killed by crocs, the last person to be killed by a croc up north (that was a tourist) was a British tourist (though it was not her fault as the tour guide told her it was safe to swim as there were no crocs, afterwards when asked if he had ever seen any crocs there he said "Yeah I had seen a few but figured they were ok"....hello they are crocs!!!!!). Generally it goes something like this - Germans get killed by wandering in the desert, the British drown at Bondi (they get drunk and go swimming either in the day or night) and Americans get killed by crocs (or get left in the ocean...oops!!! ). But most people enter and leave Australia just fine. Though seriously as long as you use some common sense (and read and take notice of the signs) then most people are okay. Hey I have been bitten by a funnel web spider, my mum by a red back and my sister by a white tail (three of the most deadliest spiders) and we all lived to tell the tale!!!! And like Cakegirl I too have loved...I mean love American men.

I know Polegirl well enough to answer this one: If it was horny American tourists doing the attacking, Polegirl would NOT be defending herself.

Yes, but I am very confused at what it has to do with saying 'Merican'.
