Well done! What you did was probably more effective than hitting him. That guy will either learn to curb his tongue if he wants to be a salesman and deal with the public or be relegated to the back lot where he'll be doing the prep and detail work. The most important thing in your story is the concept of respect and that you stood up for your mother. She should be proud of the man she raised!

The use of language and the ability not use foul language is certainly an aspect that gets missed frequently. I try to make an effort to reduce the amount of foul language I use.

As an aside, I went with my monther to buy a new car and I wanted her to test drive the car. So we get in teh car with the salesman. He says I love this eff'in car ( montero) then later was discibing the features and said this is the Sh*T. with my mother in the car!!!! Since I would not hit the guy in fornt of my mother I turned the car around back to the dealer and went to the supervisor and explained that I was going to buy he car until I was treated so badly.

As we learned as children just because you can do something doen't mean you should. People generally don't undertsand how powerful the word respect truely is.

      my 2 cents
This salesman represents perfectly the kind of stupidity which I feel should be ... painful.
