  • What's in a name?

I chose my username because for many years a lot of people have called me a bear, the Bear, the old Brown Bear, etc. It's become a recurring nickname which debateably reflects my appearance and/or personality.

And what is the significance of your username?

I've always found lizards interesting... and other reptiles for that matter.

Now its my name for the internet. In fact... I think I prefer it to my real name.

It just sounds so primitive and cool.

        bear

Ospardo People have been calling me bear as kind of a nick name since I was born so if I came on this site and called myself bear would you get as offended as when spanky chose his name.

Sorry, too late! You're already thaibxr.

I suppose we'd have to work something out. I wouldn't mind starting a "Bear Brotherhood", kinda like "Dog Brothers M.A."
It'd be ok as long as our names didn't become confusing to people.

I like "Tap4me". It's short and sweet and has an arrogant, in your face, I'm better-than-you attitude about it.

HandtoHand, I thought your name meant that you could switch your "grip" from one hand to the other so you could go on all day without getting tired.

This place I'm at is teeming with lizards, especially a little tan species called the Cuban Anole. My kid gets them to bite on his ear lobes, where they hang on, dangling like living earrings as he walks around the house.

It used to be yama because at 1m 86 I was one of the larger guys in the Dojo and have it as a tattoo, but I found there were a lot of people using yama as nick, to make it easier for friend to find if I use some IM program I added the Toudi to it, making it rather unique

Hikage means shadow in Japanese. Kage by itself just means shade, stick the hi in front and that makes it shadow, or darkness. I figured it was appropriate considering my affinity for ninjitsu. The name goes deeper as well, into my movements, my personality, etc. I.E., I'm one of those whom it takes a while to figure out, because I don't just throw my personality around.
