One of my friends was dating a guy for three years and his friends didn't even know they were together. They thought she was just his cycling partner.

It does seem to me from the guys I talk to that women, on the other hand, expect you to read their mind and it's almost impossible to tell if they like you and they can't seem to answer direct questions.

I can vouche for the second part...

and as for the guy's friends making that assumption...you can't be too overly harsh on them. It seems to me an honest mistake, the guy took cycling classes, so they probably assumed he was gay.

Finally got around to doing more than just glancing at it. Mostly it just made me really sad-- that people actually believe this. I don't know if it's true for the rest of the world, but in my circle men and women both have a heck of a lot more depth to their relationships than he gives them credit for.

Actually, she comes across as a person that appreciates a genuine person more than a person that's pretending to be nice in order to accomplish some goal of self gratification...Most "nice" guys are just accomplished deceivers...
