Christians vs Atheist?

I have no personal biasing heuristsics that shade my objectivity in reading religious doctine, or theological papers. In fact, I used to be a pretty damn good practicing Catholic, and went through several religious institutions...from Kindergarten through Highschool, I would do selected readings at Mass and I even acted as an altar boy on a number of occasions, I attended private Catholic schools, and I was taught how to research and read up on my religion at at time, they even tried to hand pick me to join up with the clergy, and if it wasn't for me questioning my faith when I did, I would've probably ended up as an Obelite order preist, or a Jesuit...Originally posted by jubaji View PostI have, and he doesn't (unless that's what you want to see...oh, of course)
Even when I was a practicing Catholic, I thought Ratzinger came off like a nazi. Sorry.
I might not believe in it anymore, but I do have tremendous respect for THE Church, and find its history fascinating. John Paul II was liberal, this guy is pretty far on the right.

What I was trying to convey is that I have a deep rooted respect for Catholicism. I have been a Catholic, and I am an atheist, so I can have dual perspectives.Originally posted by jubaji View PostThe fact that you have rejected the church and become a so-called atheist certainly calls your 'objectivity' into question to say the very least.
