You assume that the average is centered directly in the middle of the population sample, Toudiy. The average can be off the center depending on the 'concentration' or skewness of your curve. An average is the sum of all data points divided by the population sample. Standard deviations give you an indication of how precise or closely-linked the data is.

To shift this away from a statistical discussion, I'll re-define the average will power as the will power needed by a particular individual during a moment required to resist being tempted to fool around. How's dat.

1. Prayer - also serving indirectly as a form of self-reinforcement, self-discipline.

2. Community - acting as accountability partners. Keeping you at a higher standard.

You are correct. But be careful in your description of moral standards. They vary be geography. What is considered moral in one society is immoral in another. Compare the social norms of the Netherlands to the United States. Even though we are two western countries, many of the societal norms are as different as night and day.

I'm not casting judgement - I think you guys have a lot of good things that work well for your society, I'm just stating the observable differences.

Democrats have probably more affairs. Probably because as a whole, they are younger, more physically attractive and more in tune with youth culture. It is easier to get a young staffer in the sack for them then it is for a crusty old republican. It's just harder for them, as they don't have as nice hair, and have an overall pasty white appearance.
