    • Wow, sounds like Friday got off to an early start. I'm in the Doghouse with the misses so I don't think I'll be getting any lovin for weeks. LOL This weekend promises to be totally routine and redundant. Maybe I can surf the internet and read up on Garlands psychological masterpieces. LOL

      • I'm at a wedding tomorrow, which concerned me cos its about 150 miles away from the seminar I am teaching on Sunday morning I just figured I would take it steady on the night party, retire to my room to watch the Calzaghe fight, then get a good night's sleep. But I've just been told that its a free bar, yes sir, the two greatest words in the English language - free bar.

You guys know any REALLY good hangover cures?

Bloody Mary, Mexican food, and a nap. Worked like a charm for me last weekend.

Went to Austin last weekend with the missus and hit a couple of friend's Halloween parties. She was dressed like Betty Page, I was one of the Baseball Furies from "The Warriors." Only a few people got it, everybody else asked "are you Babe Ruth's ghost or something?" The last party we ended up at was across the street from our friends house that we were staying at, towards the end everybody got crazy and most of the party got naked and jumped in the hot tub. Not us, though. She's modest and I wasn't in the nude mood.

Nothing quite that exciting for us this weekend. I had a felony jury trial on Monday which meant my whole weekend was going to be trial prep, but we made a last minute deal and he just pled out. So now my weekend is free. I need some gym/mat time to work off last weekend's debauchery.

I played along with her scheme.

When asked, I told her the name of the commanding officer of the Salvation Army was Col. Saunders...and that I didn't have the secret recipe. She resorted to some 'slippery' techniques...

i think i'm gonna be ok.

Yep. They know. And if they can't manipulate your mind, they gotta move on to someone they can lol.

I saw it live!! We were so close that you could see the sweat flying off the guys when they got punched. Those were some KICK ASS fights! One guy we talked to who was ringside for $75 said he'd paid $500 for the exact same fight in Vegas that got cancelled...

Marquez is a rock star. I was rooting for him because I'd heard he was a bit of an underdog and because I thought it was cool and a bit nuts to fight that soon after breaking his hand... Rocky fought really well too, but I think that cut really affected his fight quite a bit. His hands also seemed a bit slower. OMG that was such a good fight. It was so exciting to be RIGHT THERE... Desert Diamond is an awesome casino with a really nice set-up.

Unfortunately, there were some losers in the crowd including some f**in' hecklers but we didn't let it ruin our night.

The undercard fights weren't really evenly matched, but were still enjoyable. The Guerrero fight was fun but a bit anti-climactic... We didn't think the punch looked like much but it did its work!

                        • This is a badly needed Long Veterans day weekend. I have several boring projects lined up including getting the leaves chopped up and another do it yourself oil change on my SUV. Two private lessons scheduled and a boat load of chores. I will probably watch a movie with the Ms. tonight and hope for a score at romance.

                          Whats on tap with you?

                          • Today: teach and then work my second job.
Saturday: 8:30 class management workshop, then get emissions test, then meet with another teacher at 1... then I got invited to a dinner thing at 7...oh yeah, I have to bake something for desert for said dinner thing
Sunday and Monday: finish grading and entering progress report grades and planning lessons...maybe go on a Monday morning hike. I also have to clean and do laundry...it never ends!
I'm hoping to train Monday night and to read one of my library books at some point.

                            • I need to hit the gym and do some hard conditioning this weekend. My instructor and I are going to Cali for a four day seminar in December with some all-day workouts and I need to be ready. I didn't think I got the three day weekend, but I just called the courthouse and it turns out I do after all. Maybe I'll catch up on some work, go out to the jail and visit some guys I need to talk to. Living room still needs painting, maybe I'll finally finish that.

Next week though...just ask me what I'm doing next week! Ok, forget it, I'll just tell you. Hermes Franca is coming to our school for a three day seminar. Our semi-small town doesn't get a lot of big names in, so I'm stoked. I just hope we get a good turnout.
