  • Japan government under fire over general's war comments

The Japanese government fought off criticism on Tuesday over the appointment of an air force general fired last week for saying Japan was not an aggressor in World War Two and urging an end to tight controls on its military....

Japan government under fire over general's war comments - Yahoo! News

Yet another fact about WWII that Japan has attempted to lie about, cover up, deny or ignore. It's a matter of public record that Japan has attempted to keep the truth about Unit 731's activities, and the rape of women of children as well as their organizations tasked with enslaving women for sex as quiet as possible. Hiding these behaviors and denying them makes any "apologies" suspect to say the least. People who object to the truth being told have something to hide. Makes you wonder what those who object to these stories being told have to be ashamed of, especially those who attack anyone who dares mention these atrocities. Even after years of denial, when forced by the world to admit their crimes, they still refused compensation. When you look at the history of these cases and see the general attitudes that persist, it's evident they aren't sorry for their actions, they're just sorry they got caught.

Japan Court Rules Against Sex Slaves and Laborers

In two landmark rulings, Japan’s highest court on Friday rejected compensation claims filed by former wartime sex slaves and forced laborers from China but acknowledged that they had been coerced by the Japanese military or industry.

Japan’s highest court denied compensation to wartime sex slaves and forced laborers from China but acknowledged the coercion.

DPRK accuses Japan of cover-up on "comfort women"

The Democratic People's Republicof Korea (DPRK) on Thursday accused Japanese right-wingers of forcing a cover-up on wartime "comfort women" by pressing a Japanese TV company to edit a program on the issue.

The program -- "Wartime sexual abuse exposed to criticism" -- "was altered in the direction of covering up Japan's responsibility for the war," said a spokesman for the DPRK Measure Committee for Demanding Compensation to Comfort Women for the Japanese Army and the Victims of Forcible Drafting.

The Japanese newspaper Asahi Shimbun said the content of the program, a sequel to the program "How to try war" aired by NHK of Japan on Jan. 30, 2001, was grossly altered just before being broadcast under pressure from the then-congressman Shinzo Abe (nowacting secretary general of Japan's Liberal Democratic Party) and Shoichi Nakagawa (now minister of Economy, Trade and Industry).

"Japanese media institutions, which claim to stand for neutrality and impartiality of the press, are taking the lead in tampering with history and slandering the DPRK as faithful mouthpieces of right-wing forces, blinded by money-making," the DPRK spokesman said in a statement.

"Japanese right-wing forces and media are becoming so noisy in their smear campaign against the DPRK, persistently tampering with Japan's crime-woven past," said the spokesman, adding that "it is aimed at evading at any cost its responsibility to redeem the crimes committed by it against humanity in the past and create an atmosphere favorable for the realization of militarization."

"Japan's desperate efforts to deny and embellish its past crimes would only prompt the international community to dig more deeply into its crime-woven past and redouble the international community's efforts in demanding its settlement," the spokesman said.

And it turns out to be one old dude making ill-considered comments, being fired, everyone rushing to distance themselves from him and one pathetic, insecure racist on this forum hopping up and down and clapping his little hands in glee at what he sees as a chance to drag his bigotry out into the light of day, if only for a moment.

Most people in the world have stopped worrying about what people say about WWII. People and countries need to move on instead of getting their panties in a twist over nothing of consequence.

Nothing of consequence? Tell that to the victims, and their families. Geesh, slavery was a abolished WAAAAY before WWII, I guess that was nothing of consequence and people should stop getting their panties in a twist over that too. Spoken like a 5 yr old with zero comprehension of the world or history, while you're at it be sure to visit a holocaust museum and tell the Jews to get over it, the fact that their are unpunished war criminals still out there who killed their families and stole their belongings is nothing to get their panties in a wad over.

The Korean war ended in 1953, 8 years after WWII so I guess that's of no consequence either eh? People like you are why they say those ignorant of history are doomed to repeat it.

History is sadly filled with endless examples of man's atrocities against man. This just so happens to coincide with TTExcrement's personal prejudice.

Look ju... you can paint it any color you like but I think you're flinging pooh here. Enough already. Put the man on your ignore list...

It's no secret that many of the scientists and scholars associated with the so called experiments at camp 731 went on to become big names in Japan's post war developement.

They were never punished for war crimes but were rewarded with sanctuary.

Thanks in a big way to our own government...

Amen, I do believe Boar covered the American warmongering, the Soviets and their games as well the German scientist we absorbed, and of course the Israeli/Palestinian issues, no prejudice from this end, but clearly there is nothing but prejudice and personal attacks from someone here.

I don't think anyone is denying or has denied any of the facts presented. My point is that his reasons for obsessing over this and his emotive reaction to the other poster fit a pattern of his prejudicial attitude toward a certain people specifically and his usual defensive pissiness in general. If you can't see that then you can't see that. You know I'll always fess up when I'm just slinging poo for fun.

Cause we'd never see that in your posts.

jubaji is prejudice against the Chinese that's why he hates CMA practitioners so much.

Well said, he's clearly prejudiced against the Chinese because there isn't a thread in the CMA forum with more than 10 posts that he's not in attacking the people who practice them (this behavior has been going on waaay longer than before anyone from this camp ever posted here). Not to mention the majority of my posts are followed and quoted with this evident personal attack.

Great, let's go 'round that mulberry bush again and I'll repeat my fondness for the Chinese people and my criticism of silly crap that give CMA a bad name.

If you're the standard then I have yet to see TTE use any racist comments either. In fact I have yet to see him seen go so far as to say Jap.

He even pointed out to me that calling anime "Japanaimation" was considered racist by some people.

No you criticize anything our people have to say about CMA's because it makes you look like a know nothing, instead of just a pompous ass no it all.

I criticize anything 'your people' say that is ridiculous or unrealistic. Most of all, I criticize 'your people's' laughably predictable response to anyone who doesn't agree with every juvenile, insecure demand for legitimacy that your more cartoonish members regularly make.
