  • Rules for bouncers???

    Hello all,

Can anyone comment on what kind of rules bouncers have to go by? can they use any force or does it have to be regulated carefully?

And when bouncer has to fight a drunk man, and the drunk man takes a pathetic stance and looks sort of like bruce Lee or Jet Li. Does that mean that the bouncer who smashes him to the pavement, should consider Kung Fu **** and useless because of such men?

If the bouncer did this, wouldn't the bouncer be wrong in his assumptions?

    Grasping at straws....

Yes TC. "bouncers" do have RULES. They need to keep the well being of customers in BALANCE with the LIABILITY of the club owner(s).

In other words there is a prefrence for LESS LETHAL options. You see TC, gouging out the EYES of your CUSTOMERS is BAD for business...

Further... In California, Senate Bill 194 requires any bouncer or bar security guard to be registered with the State of California Department of Consumer Affairs Bureau of Security and Investigative Services. These guards must also complete a criminal background check, including submitting their fingerprints to the DOJ and FBI. Californians must undertake the "Skills Training Course for Security Guards" before receiving a security licence. Further courses allow for qualified security personnel to carry batons upon completion of training...

      Wiki.

Yeah, there are some things that bouncers and bartenders just can't do to their customers, interestingly many of them involve the eyes and products intended for the eyes.
