Weekend bachelor party reels in nearly 9-foot bull shark in Galveston County - Your Houston News: News:

We have had two shark bites attributed to bullsharks recently, one right around the corner from where I caught those specs.

Good on this guy for catch and release.

Yeah... I know it sounds like I'm some kinda richie rich but that was a small fish and I made about 14 half pint jars of canned tuna out of it.

I like a dash of salt and a chunk of garlic in a small jar with water added to cover the meat while it cooks.

    simple enough for me.

These are about 5 bucks a pound when available... And well worth it IMHO.
Yeah they are loads of fun fun on light tackle, and fishing skinny water there is an element of hunting in it as you have to stalk them a bit

but you are gonna have to tell me how you prefer to cook that tuna? and @ 5$ a lb I am jealous on a few levels!

Nice to have access to fresh seafood, too bad about local conditions I have heard about CA's strict rules regarding fish and game.

Here are a few fish, I have alot more photos but they are pretty much the same thing, plan on taking the fly rod to the salt as soon as the wind lays down and the water greens up.

Fishing here is fairly depleted and highly regulated. I haven't been for several years but the kid can fish off the dock and at the local lagoons and rivers. We don't keep too many. I usually buy Tuna and crab off the local harbor in the bay.

    started a topic Fishing anyone?

    Fishing anyone?

Anyone here fish for fun or table fare?

I took up fly fishing 2 years ago and have been having a blast, mostly on small largemouth bass 1-4 lbs and of course the ever present sunfish, I am sure I will pick up my cast net and conventional tackle this summer, but flyfishing is great fun and a great way to get kids interested in fishing as well.

I will get some pics off my phone and post them up later, all the bass I catch I release I just don't think they are that great on the table.
Working...
