Seriously, my fight in HIGH SCHOOL (Spanky!)...........the guy was trying to punch and kick but I was just avoiding his shots. He got frustrated quickly and tried to tackle me. When he put his head down I just got him in the 'ol Carlos Newton Bulldog choke. Granted this was before I had even heard of BJJ but I was wrestling at the time and it was just a natural response.

If someone did break up the fight, would you have been able to hold the choke?

Did any of his buddies try to get you back, either while you were choking him or later?

Actually it was kinda funny. I just remember, and my friends told me later, choking this guy and screaming at him: "I don't wanna fight you man! I don't wanna fight you!" Then some teacher broke it up.

Nobody wanted to fight me in high school. Got close a couple of times but it never really panned out. Mostly because I walked away and they weren't too eager to follow. Jr high, on the other hand...

Had one guy start flailing away at me and I just walked away from him. He cornered me and lunged in, I sidestepped and helped him with the back of his coat do a face plant on the pavement. After that it was broken up. Didn't want to fight him either. I guess the fight was over in 59 seconds or less!

I've been in a few fight (about 6) and one ended up on the ground when he tackled me and choked me. So, since 90% of the fights end up on the ground, I figure that my next 30 fights or so will end up with both of us on the ground.

I use to be in the military, and tossed a barrel bag by a guy's feet when I was mad. Next thing I knew, I was walking back to the berthing area. I figured he knocked me out, but don't know how.

In junior high, two guys cornered me and my friend by my brothers car after a rock concert in Houston. They said they had knives, and my friend told me that he saw one (but I didn't). So we gave them our money. I don't think I would have wanted to tackle one of them and gone to the ground.

In a restroom, I told a guy to clean up (in the military) he got mad and grabbed me and started pushing me against the wall. I reached around his neck and guilotinned him.

I got elbowed in the chest during a class when I was behind the instructor. It was an informal class in the military. So I hook punched him in the chest. It knocked the wind out of him also, but he didn't say anything, so I threw him to the ground. I walked away after that to cool down.

In Ft. Worth at a minuature golf place me and my cousin got attacked by about 5 kids. We were playing a video game when one all of a sudden hit my cousin from behind in the head. When one was between me and my cousin I grabbed one from behind in a choke hold and was going back towards one of the video games. Next thing I knew, I was on the ground and a guy was going to throw a bar stool the place had at me. My cousin had a broken arm as a result of trying to block the stool from hitting his head before the guy turned it on me.

Those are about the only ones that ended in actual controntations instead of just threats that I've had. So, in my case I don't think that 90% of the fights end up on the ground and in a street situation where you don't know the other guy, they will try to have the advantage by numbers or weapons.
That's just my thought from my opinions. I would rather hit a guy now and follow up with a break or throwing him to the ground.
