With the argument on kyoushin I think I can clear up a bit since I trained in kyoushin kai and muay thai. Basically kyoushin is pretty much muay thai. Mas Oyama saw that karate was too traditional so he decided to add techniques from the thai country and he added quite a lot. Most kicks are thai including the roundhouse, the puches are from boxing and they have a few thai knees and elbows. So I guess you could call kyoushin muay thai with palms and no punches to the head. kyoushin dudes also diss traditional karate as much as muay thai since they do not consider themselves traditional. There is a documentery with the kyoushin people beating kung fu and traditional karate with the kyoushin commentors making fun of them with remarks like"Those stupid traditionalist always working on forms and tradition never on foghting and also look at those snappy little kicks no power those traditionalist need to evolve, and lets not forget look at those traditional morons with there fists chamber at the waist and all that traditional fancy junk"

Another Correction.....
Originally posted by CKDhttp://crane.50megs.com/index6r.htm Sherwinc if kung fu is the best how come it got beat so easily
I've got some evidence too from an international book of the Beggars KungFu Society that evidence on which a combination of 2 kungfu systems ( Lohan/Arhats KungFu with Tiger KungFu Style ) easily defeated 3 Muay Thai Best Fighters in just three moves of this KungFu 2 combined systems.
Now, we have fair evidences....
But....
but when i watch Thai Boxer they fights with a Telegraphic moves, compare to karate also telegraphic but speaking of telegraphic moves Thai Boxing is the worst.
Note:
the shortest distance from point A to point B is the straight line.
then the punches of Karate and Tae Kwon Do most of them comes from the waist so i conclude that their moves is a telegraphic. Now, compare to a Thai Boxing - their roundhouse kick starts from their rear feet and not leading.
Then most of their throws is roundhouse kick, another example of a telegraphic kicking.
Note:
As to my advantage is - the Thai Boxer Stance is always stands and positions on one feet while the other is knee raised, you'll easily defeated if you always take that fighting stance.
Another Note:
1. If you stand both of your feet - you have a 100 percent gravity.
2. If you stand with one foot and the other is raised like those of Thai Boxer - your gravity is deducted by 50 percent, thus you have a 50 percent gravity left.
3. But if you jump or execute a jumping kick - it is my advantage cause you have zero gravity left.
Then Tai Chi Chuan will use that gravity against you.

We don't have equal evidence I gave a site showing people considered to be great kung fu master vs. a average thai boxers and all you do is say something and not back it up with evedence. Most of my friends are kung fu guys and I have down kung fu but none of us make these claims of taking on three thai boxers at once.

evidence?....
Originally posted by CKDqoote by sherwinc"the Thai Boxer Stance is always stands and positions on one feet while the other is knee raised" uhh standing on one foot is not a thai boxer stace and kung fu has plenty of stance with one leg like Rooster raises leg.
when it comes to evidence i have plenty of evidences especially those Shorin Ryu Karates Iron shin bone compare to kungfu....
for how many evidence we both to present here.... i am not concern for the defeat of them kungfu guys there but.... if you only concern about yourself, pls try to look at your forearm - if it is correctly trained to make it an Iron Bridge Forearm of WingChun i think even the most feared thai boxers will not fight you, you dont know what i mean cause you only look and see the laminated dark glass window of a car but you dont see the person inside that car who aim you with his sniper rifle plan to trigger his rifle.
You see the flowering combinations of kungfu movements but as of now you dont know its each movements purpose and intention. And even me i reach 9years of practicing this ChiDianBun but still everytime i practice i usually discover another purpose on which i think there are 6 purpose on each alphabets but it reached 11 - it increases my fighting tacktics as long as i continue practicing the kungfu and its a lifetime practice.
Usually the teacher teach you alphabets and you have the only one to make it into words and to sentenced it using those alphabets taught to you. Now, if you seem not to understand what i mean it is because you are a non-chinese martial arts.

Karate is more telegraphic then Muay Thai moron not the other way around.
Since when does a Muay Thai fighter position on one leg while other is with knee raised ? This I have never seen in my years of Muay Thai but I have seen in other arts like karate. The only time I ever hand to go on one leg with other knee raised up high was when I used to study Okinawan Goju Ryu but never in Muay Thai.If you did that kind of stance in a Muay Thai fight you would end up hurt pretty damn badly.

quote by sherwinc"Now, if you seem not to understand what i mean it is because you are a non-chinese martial arts."
I trained in Chinese Martial Arts!!! and under a good instructor and shaolin monks came in frequently to teach the class at least 1 or 2 times. My cousin spent several years learning under a chinese monk and both of us find mma more effective. You say you have evidence but you never cite your source I am not going to take your word for it. Some of those people talked about on that site were considered legendary and got defeated. I suggest you stop learning from the Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon movies and start training. and i looked up Chiandianbun and it does not exist.

quote"That's exactly how I look at traditional arts such as karate, kung fu,tae kwon do etc." Kyoushin and its offshoots are effective. But they are basically muay thai. Sanda has no kung fu in it even though people consider it kung fu. Its just muay thai with judo and wrestling. Whats all these people rippin of muay thai? and yeah I think of tmas that way too add me to the troll list

In tournaments I have been to I rarely see a kung fu practitioner sparr they are mostly doing katas and weapons.
In Muay Thai all we do is learn how to fight so obviously we'll be able to kick your guy's ass, so to say Kung Fu is the best martial arts and there is nothing like it is just plain B.S
Your guy's fancy stances, kicks and punches would do absolutely nothing for you in a real fight or in sparring matches against styles like Muay Thai, JKD, Shooto fighting, Savate, American Kickboxing, Pankration, Judo, Jujitsu, Submission Wrestling etc.

a lesson for you....
Originally posted by MuayThaiFighterKung Fu is just as useless as karate and tae kwon do if you are looking at it in self-defense aspect.Muay Thai would kick ass on any of you guys. Kung Fu,Karate and TKD are all show,I'm yet to see a kung fu monk demonstrate self-defense and sparring. They always demonstrate their inner strength with moving things, being able to take hits and alot of pain, doing things most people can't do but when it comes to sparring they never demonstrate anything.Gee could it because their shit would never work in sparring or on the street ?

All that you mention from Muay Thai up to Submission Wrestling is all EASY TO LEARN. Do you know that all of its techniques are found in KungFu? And all of the KungFu techniques are not found in these Muay Thai up to Submission Wrestling?
Yes, they have many fights as an evidence but - but that fight is in the ring with full of rules and fouls if done wrong and not acceptable to the referree.
Are you guys to believe in TO SEE IS TO BELIEVE?????? ( as an evidence? like those winning fights in the ring?)
then,
why do all Catholic religions believed in Jesus even though they did not see that God in their naked eye?
Answer:
It is because we know that He is God
then,
why is it that we insist that KungFu is the best of all martial arts categories?
Answer:
Practice it frequently and if you applied all you practice to your opponent and having him no time to plan an attack and beat him in 120 seconds then you too conclude that it is the best of all the best.
You know, you are not familiar to any of kungfu moves, even their opening bow you dont know its purpose, it is also used as an attack, and that is one of the billion examples cause, you dont know the every purpose of that every moves of the KungFu world.
Just like those stupid fox that after several times of jumping that grapes but still that fox cannot reach it, then he turn back and go leave and said "that grapes is sour"
why?
cause you did not find the correct kungfu instructor and what you did is judging the book thru its cover. You see a very clean cover of that book but you dont know how dirty is - inside.
and correction,
from Muay thai to submission wrestling they are for - self luck fights ( win or lose )
while,
Chinese KungFu are for self offence and not a self defence type.
