Do you all remember being read bedtime stories as a kid; or maybe you didn't have that, but you saw it in movies and television. I remember as a kid maybe in first grade, my mom gave my older sister the duty of tutoring me in reading. My sister would have me read to her at night and she'd always fall asleep. It took me a while to realize that I was basically reading my older sister bedtime stories.

Then a few years ago, I had a best friend living with me, and we were supposed to be reading a book together, but she said she couldn't focus long enough to get through the chapters, so she asked me to read them to her at night after work. Of course she fell asleep also.

Interestingly enough, both my sister and my friend began to request I read them these stories.

Funny that you mentioned this! I actually have this One Minute Bedtime Story book and have read it to some of my cuddlers, both in person and on the phone. It’s so old I don’t even remember where or when I got it.

I grew up loving stories, so now I try to bring a bit of that comfort back by using personalized bedtime stories for kids for my nieces. Having their names and little quirks in the plot makes them light up, and it turns bedtime into something they look forward to instead of avoid. It’s been a sweet way to share that cozy feeling even if I’m not reading to them in person.
