    IMHO, the fastest easiest way is a program that incorporates weight training, cardiovascular training and proper nutrition. I've had good results with the following but you must understand that it is only one of many many different programs and you must eventually find your own way. Nevertheless, this is as good a start as any;

    Good Luck!

      Exercise Routine

      Three words
      RUN FORREST, RUN!!

      I'm not a "Bruce Lee Fanatic", but I remember a quote of his where he referred to running as the "king of exercise"
      Now that I am 43 years old, I see that he is right.
      I've trained in the martial arts since age 11 having studied Goju, Muay Thai, Pikiti Tirsha Arnis, and JKD. When I was a younger man, all it took for me to get in condition was to go to martial arts class, do some sparring, hit the bags and I stayed in condition.
      When I got older I found I lacked the time and energy to do this, and instead started Running.
      I was amazed at the results. My blood pressure dropped, thus reducing the dosage of medication I had to take, My heart and respitory rate improved, which made it easier to climb stairs, run for the bus, and go through my daily :"real life" activities. My midsection improved... running actually "tightens up" a flabby midsection and eliminated the dreaded "love handles" that NO ONE is "in love with!!" Last but not least... IT'S FAST!! My running workouts are 2-3 times a week, take 30-40 minutes, I can increase or decrease the intensity based on my mood or physical condition.... Who could ask for more?
      After I run, I stretch for 20 30 minutes do two sets of 25 pushups, and two sets of 25 situps and THATS IT!!
      This is an EASY "idiot proof" way to get back in shape or maintain your shape and YOU WILL see results in 2-4 weeks DO IT!!

          The problem with cardio for obese people, as I was, is that its just too strenuous to get the 30-40 minutes done. Yes, one can is supposed to work their way up to the 30-40 minutes but this is disheartening for the obese person. Its very psychological. This is why I recommend to obese or even just overweight people to stick to weightlifting for a while. To me, weightlifting is quick and effective. No need to sweat and be exhausted for extended periods of time. Research studies have supported this claim. I know in my case, cardio is much easier now that I am more physically fit but its still boring as hell. I never have that problem with lifting. Oh well.

              Glad you liked it! Bill Phillips has raised a few eyebrows with some of his claims, like the 12-week challenge and his aggresive marketing of his EAS products, but I've found that the core principles of his programs are sound and effective. I also like that he stresses intense, time-efficient workouts; get in, work out, get out. 20 mins. of cardio or 45 mins. of strength training and on with your life. And you still get dramatic results. Did you see some of those before and after pictures? That's supposed to have happened in only 12 weeks!

                Oso,

                Yea, those before-after pics are really too good to believe. Especially, in just 12 weeks. However, I don't have much doubt that the program can produce good results sooner or later. Like you said, it does seem principally sound. I wonder what his program can accomplish in 24 weeks.
